We are currently hiring an Operational Excellence Manager to join us on our AbbVie North Dublin site. The Operational Excellence (OpEx) Manager is responsible for leading productivity, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives across the site. This role manages OpEx projects, fosters a culture of improvement, and guides cross-functional teams using Lean Six Sigma methodologies to achieve site strategic and financial goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement projects.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement through coaching and training.
- Implement Lean tools such as VSM, 5S, Kaizen, and Visual Management.
- Lead Six Sigma/DMAIC projects to reduce variability and defects.
- Oversee site performance metrics and ensure effective KPI governance.
- Facilitate structured problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cost and waste reduction initiatives.
- Lead change management activities to ensure sustainable improvements.
- Develop and deliver Lean/Six Sigma training, building internal capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred).
- 5–10 years’ experience in Operations, OpEx, or Program Management (regulated environment preferred).
- Proven expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and analytical skills.
- Understanding of GMP and regulatory requirements in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Leadership experience with the ability to influence and coach teams.

Where We Work
Role is exclusively performed at a site or office and onsite presence is required. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
