This position focuses on Glaucoma Surgical with a secondary sub-focus on Interventional Glaucoma overseeing the design and delivery of clinical training for Field Account Consultants, FSTs, MSLs, National Accounts, and the Institutions teams.
This role requires up to 60% travel.
Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple brands, marketing teams, and field leaders (division portfolio has 4 products)
- Align all training with the strategic imperatives of the marketing leads strategic imperatives
- Learn and oversee the AOP, ALC, as well as the Franchise Annual Training Plan, making sure that it is current and accurate.
- Participate, and at times lead, the design, development, and implementation of training programs (this includes training and building the bench for our field training team)
- Partner with marketing teams and agencies to ensure training content is accurate and up to date for all training needs.
- Participate, and at times lead, discussions with key stakeholders in the Medical/Legal/Regulatory/Compliance process to ensure all relevant materials are approved.
- Facilitate all corporately run training classes that are agreed upon in each year’s training plan (as well as assist in the creation of the training plan)
- Manage content and learning continuum within Digital Learning Platforms.
- Partner with training coordinator/admin to ensure programs are effectively managed.
- Partner with marketing, sales leadership, Medical/Legal/Regulatory/Compliance, and other departments, as needed, to create and implement specific training material.
- Continuously assess training and development needs of the salesforce and coordinate training resources to address these needs to ensure the long-term development of the Eye Care team “One Eyecare and One Abbvie”.
- Draws from field sales knowledge and develops and nourishes relationships with field sales to provide sales training and marketing leadership with a clear understanding of field needs to support product positioning, address competitive promotional efforts, and to assess the success of the various communication tools.
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3 years of surgical experience preferred
- 5+ years pharmaceutical sales or directly related experience
- Strong clinical expertise in Optometric & Ophthalmic disease states
- Experience with successful project development, management, execution, and multitasking
- Experience in facilitating impactful group conversations
- Time management, project management, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Business acumen, analytics assessment, and critical thinking
- Ability to manage and prioritize a diverse mix of responsibilities, execute plans, and communicate project updates to internal stakeholder
