Job Description

Contribute to strategic and tactical development of sales support initiatives for the Dermatology Atopic Dermatitis franchise.

Responsibilities

  • Assess monthly National, Regional and other key sales performance trends.  Propose strategic selling initiatives to identify business performance opportunities, field force best practices and create franchise wide in-field initiatives to improve execution and performance.
  • Work with Sales Operations/FFE and MABI to develop, compile and communicate monthly franchise sales execution and performance reports (Account targeting and segmentation, launch execution, FFE execution priorities, product communications)
  • Lead analysis and application of sales operations needs for the IAE field force, including coordination with in-house and field management and sales operations to help field business understanding and strategic execution.
  • Gather, organize and communicate monthly Q&I reports, coordinate with IC team, to assist in development and communication of key sales performance reports and plans.
  • Coordinate franchise sales training program including analysis and development of training opportunities and coordination with Sales Training, Marketing, Sales Managers to develop and implement training initiatives.
  • Work jointly with marketing and training to clarify and integrate marketing strategies into Sales Training, both at IFTC and scheduled sales meetings throughout the year with the purpose of enhancing In-field sales force execution and effectiveness. 
  • Identify field tactical and strategic opportunities to create and implement necessary sales tools and programs to optimize IAE account execution and relieve administrative burden.

  • Coordinate and build sales leadership presentations for clear and timely field touchpoints (ex: Quarterly updates, National and Regional meetings, and internal senior leadership reviews).
  • Develop, implement and execute the franchise sales force communication plan, compiling sales leadership, marketing and CA&O feedback to create an informative and functional cadence for the field.
  • Responsible for the coordination and management of sales support functions, including sales analytics, sales diagnostics, Q&I monthly reports, strategic selling strategy and field communications.
  • Lead and manage the process of developing and implementing sales force incentive programs for both on-going and ad hoc incentive programs.
  • Facilitate coordination between Sales Management, Marketing, Sales Reporting, Commercial Analytics and Quotas and Incentives.
  • Work cross functionally with NSM peers, Sales Management, Marketing, Training and various AbbVie sales support organizations to create, implement and optimize all necessary field initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years working in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry with focus on sales, marketing and/or training experience.
  • Franchise sales, sales leadership experience strongly preferred, including launch experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • U.S. Commercial experience required with strong matrix skills and cultural sensitivity to work effectively across AbbVie Inc.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and manage across a complex set of internal and external
  • Strong executive presence and leadership skills.
  • Capable of attracting and developing world-class commercial talent.
  • Strong communication and negotiating skills required.
  • Working knowledge of the market, disease states and products.
