Key responsibilities
- Lead the strategic design and execution for leveraging secondary medical data to address therapeutic gaps and enable critical business decisions.
- Drive organizational and technical excellence in data management and advanced analytics, supporting secondary research and evidence generation.
- Initiate and support AbbVie data lake projects, ensuring local integration, advanced analytics, and development of innovative capabilities.
- Provide expert statistical counseling for conceptualization and design of non-interventional studies, including population sizing, confounder management, and digital health or AI-driven study designs.
- Ensure methodological rigor and scientific integrity for projects with digital health technologies, apps, or AI-driven approaches, partnering closely with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Guide the selection and deployment of cutting-edge digital health tools (wearables, DIGAs, apps, clinical-grade gadgets) and operationalize AI-driven analytics across primary and secondary data streams.
- Support affiliate publication management to maintain compliance, business continuity, and scientific integrity.
Skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to manage cross-disciplinary stakeholders
- Strong background in medicine/human biology for pharmaceutical evidence generation
- Strategic and analytical thinking
- Advanced project management skills
- Ability to excel in a dynamic environment, manage multiple projects, and handle uncertainties
- Innovative, resilient, and self-motivated with a track record of problem-solving
- Proficiency in English and German
Experience
- Master's or PhD in Data Science, AI, Statistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, or related field
- Minimum 2 years' pharmaceutical industry experience in a similar role
- 3 years of proven experience in data analysis, project management, and strategic planning
- Strong statistical expertise
- Knowledge of digital health technologies and their healthcare applications
- Programming proficiency (Python and/or AI-related frameworks preferred)
- Experience with innovative AI methods in medicine (pattern recognition, medical imaging, predictive modeling)
- Experience designing and analyzing non-interventional studies and secondary data
- Demonstrated expertise in AI and digital health technologies within pharma, evidenced by publications, products, or studies

Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
