Are you passionate about driving medical and scientific excellence in the pharmaceutical industry? Join our Affiliate Medical team as a Medical Advisor, Slovakia in our Specialty Care division. You will represent the affiliate’s medical/scientific voice, provide expertise across assigned products in our neuroscience portfolio, and guide key stakeholders with credible, strategic insights. Your position will combine approximately 70% office with 30% field based work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned products, delivering medical/scientific advice and supporting strategy development.
- Build and nurture professional relationships with thought leaders, external experts, and academic centers through congress participation, scientific exchange, advisory boards, and educational events.
- Provide critical input to Medical Affairs strategies, core documents (e.g., pricing/reimbursement dossiers, HEOR documents), and key commercial initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with peers in all departments, marketing, sales and regulatory affairs both in Slovakia and Czech Republic.
- Lead and deliver scientific presentations, medical education, and internal training for healthcare professionals and cross-functional teams.
- Stay at the forefront of medical science by attending relevant meetings, reviewing literature, and summarizing key trends and data for your team and the organization.
- Oversee clinical research activities, including designing and implementing investigator-initiated studies, post-marketing research, and supporting clinical trials.
- Ensure the accuracy and compliance of promotional materials, maintaining adherence to AbbVie policies and external regulations.
- Play a pivotal role in monitoring the competitive landscape and providing actionable intelligence to leadership.
- Master’s degree (or higher) in a scientific or medical discipline required
- Pharmaceutical industry experience and familiarity with drug development and clinical research are distinct advantages.
- Ideally you are in a medical advisor or MSL position today , alternatively you are working in regulatory affairs, PV or commercial function and show the capabilities needed to develop into medical affairs function.
- Ideally with experience in the field of neuroscience
- Adept at building expertise in medical research; proven ability to keep pace with evolving science.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills in local language (fluent English highly desirable).
- Customer-focused, solution-oriented, and deeply committed to scientific and ethical integrity.
- Experience working independently and collaboratively, preferably in matrix or cross-functional teams.
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Curious and open to learn , change and develop along the way.
- Empathetic and caring.
- Demonstrated leadership, planning, organization, and a results-driven mindset.

Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
