Job Description

AbbVie is looking for a Medical Advisor Immunology Gastroenterology in Estonia.  We are advancing an innovative gastroenterology portfolio to make a remarkable impact on patients that suffer from inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD).  

Your future position at AbbVie will be to the affiliate’s medical/scientific voice of expertise for assigned products) in our Immunology Gastroenterology portfolio.

Main responsibilities:

  • Provide medical and scientific advise and input in the field of Immunology Gastroenterology (inflammatory bowel diseases) to support AbbVie's Medical Affairs strategies & tactics, as well – cross-functional brand team objectives. .
  • Develop and maintain credible relationships with leading external experts, scientific and clinical societies, healthcare professionals, and other therapeutic area relevant stakeholders in the country.
  • Collaborate effectively with the cross-functional team or within the matrix to scientifically support the development of brand planning and execution.
  • Lead local cross-functional gap assessment exercise and identification of the most effective solutions to close these gaps including use of RCT, RWE, RWD/registries and IIS.  
  • Drive fit for purpose evidence generation initiatives, alongside with development of research concepts and protocols.
  • Partner across the Brand Team to deliver a consistent understanding of the disease, science and clinical practice and the impact on patient and HCP journeys and payer medical policies.
  • Serve as a medical/scientific voice of expertise for internal and external queries related to Immunology Gastroenterology (inflammatory bowel diseases) therapy area in AbbVie.
  • Deliver scientific presentations and medical education programs, engage in discussions at local and regional meetings.
  • Work dynamically across multiple channels, adjusting channel choice and tailoring content and messages/medical discussion topics appropriately, to meet evolving customer preferences.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local legislation, regulatory guidelines, industry codes and company policies.
  • Review promotional material ensuring medical/scientific content is accurate and compliant.
  • Deliver trainings to internal stakeholders and develop/update relevant training materials.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate:

We are seeking a candidate with medical affairs expertise in Immunology Gastroenterology, and a passion for continuous learning, in addition to a genuine interest in medical research.

Collaboration and relationship-building will be at the core of your responsibilities, as you work closely within our matrix organization and key external stakeholders within the healthcare community.

Exceptional planning and organizational skills are essential, as you will be responsible for executing tasks efficiently and effectively. Your proven track record in successfully completing assignments will set you apart as an ideal candidate. Additionally, your flexibility and adaptability in navigating ambiguity and embracing change will be crucial in thriving within our organization.

 You will have:

  • Relevant university degree (Medical Degree or Bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline.
  • Relevant 3-5 years of experience with proven track record in medical affairs within pharmaceutical industry, preferably in Immunology.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong commitment to compliance, scientific quality and integrity.
  • Adherence to national laws, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, and AbbVie's policies and procedures.
  • Fluency in written and oral Estonian.
  • Fluency in written and oral English.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30 % of the time, both national & international.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Valid driving license.

This is a hybrid (in-field & office-based position), where you will be located at our Tallinn office.
