Job Description

  • Market Access Lead, reporting to the Head of Market Access 
  • Full-time position, based in the Maidenhead office 3 days per week

Objectives

The Access Lead, UK Market Access, is responsible for the development of national market access strategies across assigned assets amongst AbbVie’s portfolio to ensure access across the UK for patients.  Effectively orchestrates communication and alignment across Market Access matrix team and serve as the UK Market Access subject matter expert for assigned assets.  Leverage data, analytics and strategic mind-set in all aspects of running the marketing component of the business.  Provides positive leadership and influences cultural alignment with Market Access ambitious Cultural Vision.

Key responsibilities                                    

  • Responsible for developing the national market access strategy across assigned assets
  • Work with relevant market access stakeholders and influencers to drive understanding of unmet need in relevant therapy areas and to shape responses and positions that help create a favourable access environment
  • Oversee market access execution at regional and local level
  • Proactively identify, pursue and convert opportunities for developing new and strengthening existing relationships with payers
  • Review and advise on development of in-field materials
  • Review existing and emerging sources of data that are relevant to infield materials, and advise on how these can be better applied to infield tools and materials
  • Provide training, development and mentorship to the infield team
  • Provide Asset and Brand team market access leadership including driving the vision, strategies, plans and resource investment
  • Lead market access strategy launch and post-launch through collaboration with the brand team
  • Engage cross-functionally to ensure that there is clarity around the strategy and specific needs from the brand team
  • Maintain expert knowledge of UK pricing and reimbursement landscape
  • Understand the evolving nature of key external customers and communicate insights to the wider business

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or other relevant area
  • Advanced degree in Business, Life Sciences, or other relevant area preferred
  • Launching new pharmaceutical products into an HTA or single-payer market
  • Proven marketing experience required
  • Cross-functional experiences including field sales, finance, market analytics valued
  • Skilled in developing innovative solutions to secure patient access to medicines within a large national health system
  • Experience and strong ability in working collaboratively across matrix functions
