Job Description

The Market Access Director will be responsible to build trust-based relationships and effective business partnerships with decision-makers, payers, and health managers by anticipating, understanding, and influencing health policies, thus maintaining the company's market leadership position. Challenge access barriers and expand the potential for our business by ensuring patient access to treatments as quickly as possible at a sustainable price aligned with our value proposition. Direct the company's efforts to be recognized as the trusted ally of payers, health managers, influencers, and patient associations, bringing innovative solutions focused on shared value, and contributing to the improvement of health management and patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive assessment of the healthcare environment, identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities that impact our ability to operate in the market, and incorporate key insights into short and long-term strategic plans.
  • Identify, map, and prioritize key external stakeholders: Health Insurers, Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), Distributors, Professional Associations, and Patient Associations to agree on partnership strategies to strengthen relationships with key clients.
  • Lead, together with the General Manager, the negotiations of centralized purchase contracts with the Federal Government, helping to develop and implement the negotiation strategy, demonstrating our value proposition to key stakeholders within the Ministry of Health.
  • Develop an annual strategic market access plan for our current product portfolio and future pipeline, managing the implementation of strategies for positioning products within the value chain across various health sectors, ensuring effective implementation and achievement of proposed business objectives in the Business Plan and long-term goals.
  • Lead the account management model by defining structure, roles, and responsibilities, aligning with commercial areas to establish a work model aimed at direct sales to public and private payers.
  • Establish performance goals and achievement of business plans, ensuring sales as planned for the products under the direct responsibility of this Directorate.
  • Conduct pricing negotiations for new products with ANVISA (CMED), negotiations for the incorporation of new technologies with technology assessment committees (CONITEC), minimizing market access barriers, and increasing the population's access to our medications.
  • Actively participate in governance committees, contributing to decision-making, inspiration, pace, discipline, priority setting, alignment, and supporting the strengthening of our culture, innovation, and values.
  • Establish an ethical environment that incorporates Industry and corporate requirements, conduct actions and decisions within the responsibility of the position respecting the company's Code of Business Conduct and Compliance, elevating the company's reputation in the market.
  • Consolidate the Market Access and Government Relations structure, establish a vision for the team, attract, motivate, lead, and deepen the development of key talents, provide coaching to direct reports, and ensure the implementation of succession plans.
  • Manage the department's budget.
  • Support policies and practices of EHS (environment, health, and safety), participating in and supporting departmental actions.

Qualifications

Experience

  • At least 8 years in the pharmaceutical market.
  • Experience in institutional sales, negotiation, and relationship-building with healthcare managers.
  • Previous experience in people management.

    Knowledge

    • Knowledge of Pharmaceutical, Hospital, and Healthcare Markets.
    • Familiarity with government procedures and health policies.
    • Financial knowledge.

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Administration, Marketing, Communication, Finance, Statistics, or Engineering.
    • MBA or Postgraduate degree in related fields.
    • Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish, if possible.
