Job Description

We are now recruiting an experienced Manufacturing Training Specialist to join our Core 1 (Biologics) Operations team in AbbVie Westport, Co Mayo. 

In the role, you will have the opportunity to organize and facilitate learning and development within a manufacturing environment to expedite acquisition of knowledge, skills and abilities required for effective team and individual performance. The Manufacturing Training Specialist will be required to design and conduct training modules with employees that includes procedures and modules on compounding, equipment set up and operation, visual inspection, environmental monitoring and other activities as required.

In your new role you will:
•    Develop and maintain training modules for activities in Core 1 manufacturing and Visual Inspection areas, by designing competency-based training and identifying gaps through assessments.
•    Update training manuals, SOPs and training curricula where required. 
•    Maintain Visual Inspection certification program for Core 1 products and perform certification/re-certification with operators.
•    Revise and update training certifications per area, as required. Provide on-the-job practice and training, as required.
•    Maintain skills matrix for Operations Teams and drive cross-training to ensure performance. 
•    Preparation of reports, slides and metrics to show effectiveness of the training system.
•    Actively participate in the training and certification of employees.
•    Promote and develop a culture of Right First Time. 
•    Co-ordinate any training provided by external parties, such as Vendors 
•    Resolve any training issues with team members, project customers, Vendors and others as appropriate.
•    Support new hire training logistics to ensure an effective onboarding process. 

 


Qualifications

So, what do you need to excel in this role?
•    Bachelor’s degree in science, or a related scientific field is required; an advanced degree is preferred and/or a minimum of 4 years’ experience in aseptic manufacturing environment
•    Previous experience in training-related areas is preferred.
•    Detailed knowledge of cGMP and regulatory requirements relating to the pharmaceutical industry is required for this role.
•    Comprehensive understanding of contamination control principles 
•    Possess strong technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures. 
•    Good interpersonal skills to develop working relationships with people at all levels.
•    Ability to lead and conduct/ lead training.
