Job Description

Responsible for driving laboratory operations by coordinating testing activities to support the lab schedule execution with different areas such as Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Production, Validation, Purchasing, etc. Drive material allocation for lab testing. Responsible of collecting and organizing data required for different reports such as inventory analysis, lab performance, material requirements, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate the testing and release of lab samples, project requests, in-process, raw materials and validation activities, purchase of inventory, equipment maintenance and calibration performance.
  • Evaluate any variables to identify and communicate the impact on the existing plan and incorporate in future laboratory plans.
  • Ensure short range laboratory planning and scheduling, testing vs. capacity studies, backlog, delivery commitments
  • Manage coordination with the Production and Supply Chain Department to gain agreements on the activities needed to support production schedule execution, and finished goods timely delivery.
  • Responsible for Inventory control monitoring, distress inventory and justification of proper inventory levels in the laboratory to minimize lab materials inventory dollars.
  • Responsible to measure people performance against the testing schedule to deliver the information to the supervisors to improve people performances.
  • Manage customer and TPL communications regarding shipment dates, testing status and ensure the samples tested outside of AbbVie QC laboratory are on target.
  • Coordinate implementation and enhancements to the lab planning tools.
  • Accountable for on time delivery of materials for testing, and for the release of lab dates to customers.
  • Interfaces with Site Purchasing and Supply Chain to assure timely delivery of Purchased Materials to avoid testing delays.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences, Engineering or Business Administration require and Master's Degree in Science or Business Administration preferred.
  • Eight (8) years of experience in the Quality test laboratory, with hands on experience in the following areas: Laboratory Scheduling and Inventory Control. Three (3) years of experience managing direct reports.
  • Verbal and written communication Skills in Spanish and English.
  • Knowledge of GMP, safety regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal relations.
  • Strong knowledge in statistics preferred for the role.
