This position is part of AbbVie’s Information Security & Risk Management (ISRM) team. We are here to put our partners in a position to succeed. We do it by providing the knowledge, tools, and support they need to effectively use data and technology while also effectively managing risk.
AbbVie is looking for a results-driven, customer-centric, communications leader with excellent executive messaging and PowerPoint capabilities. Some who excels at stakeholder management and are able to execute against our vision and help us elevate our Information Security & Risk Management executive messaging, communications, and marketing.
Purpose:
The ISRM Communications Manager is responsible for the strategic development and execution of communication marketing plans in partnership with our OCM team to drive ISRM project and leadership initiatives and messaging that result in a greater understanding and appreciation of AbbVie’s security strategy with the purpose of engaging and empowering employees to embody our security culture and be active parts in protecting AbbVie.
The ISRM Communications Manager is also responsible for executing the strategic direction of the ISRM organization and will be an active member in designing the ISRM AT Team strategic roadmap. They will be responsible for the continuous improvement activities within their group and the wider ISRM organization to support department effectiveness, engagement, culture, and department communication and OCM structures and initiative support.
Responsibilities:
- Interface with ISRM senior leadership for executive messaging and presentations.
- Own the process in building best-in-class communications practices that advance AbbVie’s ability to build and sustain a culture of security.
- Create strategies and initiatives that engage employees through compelling communications outreach, programs, training, and initiatives.
- Lead the development, execution and tracking of a multifaceted visibility plan with initiatives, training, and programs that contribute to advancing ISRM’s strategic priorities.
- Partner with external agencies and internal stakeholders, utilizing effective vehicles to drive clearly defined messages across all channels of distribution, reaching and engaging employees and stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with peers to continually identify high impact internal communications opportunities to enhance security awareness and secure behaviors; provide leadership, develop employee strategies, and execution of related internal programs and initiatives.
- Build and maintain efficient working relationships by defining clear and focused ways of effective partnering with Corporate Communications and other functional communications teams, as needed, to ensure all employee communications are part of an overall visibility plan and are coordinated and delivered successfully.
- Create and recommend innovative approaches to delivering communications that effectively tell the AbbVie’s security story and provide the overview, framework, and “voice” for communications across all channels.
- Ensure all communications are consistent and aligned with the company’s corporate brand identity, strategic direction, business philosophies and general practices.
- Lead process reviews and identify opportunities for significant enhancements in communication intake and response operational efficiency, overall effectiveness, and identifiable benefits to the ISRM and BTS team.
Capabilities:
- Strong track record of delivering results by producing high-quality, clear content, a demonstrated ability to earn and maintain trust across stakeholders, and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to consolidate extensive information into concise points to meet presentation objectives, and excellent PowerPoint design skills to create on the spot visuals, charts, and graphics to capture attention, tell a story, and convey essential/right messages to audiences.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to articulate a clear point of view on complicated issues in crisp, concise communications.
- Demonstrated experience building trust and influencing cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
- Experience driving cultural change and influencing organizations through communications, from audience and stakeholder analysis through implementation and success metrics tracking.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships
- Possesses a sense of urgency, self-motivated.
Significant Work Activities -Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)
- Bachelors Degree and 7 years experience OR Masters Degree and 6 years experience OR PhD and 2 years experience
- Experience developing and maintaining effective communication and training materials
- Experience with MS Office creating presentations and crafting communications
- Knowledge of communication tools and processes in a corporate environment
- Able to deliver high quality, accurate work within tight deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, judgment and consultative capabilities and communication skills and the ability to work with IT management and staff.
- Excellent engagement and communications skills
- Information Security experience preferred but not required
