Job Description

We are looking for a Maintenance Lead to join our Engineering Team in Ballytivnan, Sligo. The Maintenance Lead will be responsible for aspects associated with Moulding / Sub-assembly production facilities for our medical device site. The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to the maintenance team and be committed to delivering equipment utilities and facilities suitable for medical device.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the maintenance function for all process equipment and ensure MEP requirements are achieved.
  • Assist in building and growing the maintenance organization through the development of the Maintenance Excellence Program (MEP) utilizing CMMS -Maximo and in parallel support key manufacturing personnel for unit manufacturing and medical device operations.
  • Lead continuous improvements projects, approving protocols, and other technical documents.
  • Participate in the interpretation of data and collaboration with other departments.
  • Implement all relevant policies and procedures related to engineering, personnel, quality and safety.
  • Ensure that the plant meets its customer service, quality, safety and inventory management goals through the effective management of plant resources.
  • Support the introduction of new products and drive continuous improvement and drive continuous improvement
  • Build and develop the skills of the maintenance team
  • Support successful external and internal audits
  • Ensure safety standards working practices adhered to
  • Provide technical expertise for commercial manufacturing during development of new products, managed timelines and resources
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Attend management team meetings and develop site and department goals and strategies
  • Comply with EHS policy and procedures, and demonstrate best practices in all work-related activities
  • Support a culture of EHS excellence by recognizing and submitting opportunities for EHS improvement
  • Attend all required EHS training on medical surveillance programs

Qualifications

  • Diploma/trade qualification in a suitable science or engineering area
  • 5+ years’ experience in an engineering environment - ideally medical device
  • 3+ years’ experience of startups and\ or new product introductions to medical device facilities
  • Experience in manufacturing processes related to injection moulding and/or sub assembly
  • 1+ years of people management experience
