This job description underscores the critical role of the Learning and Transformation Lead in driving organizational change and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the Romania Affiliate of AbbVie, accentuating the importance of business acumen in influencing strategic business partners and shaping the future direction of the organization.
Scope and Purpose Statement:
- As the Learning and Transformation Lead at the AbbVie Romania, this key role is dedicated to orchestrating organizational change and cultivating a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Reporting directly to the Customer Excellence Director, the primary objective is to craft and execute robust learning and change management strategies, crucial for elevating capabilities across Brand Teams, especially Marketing, and Infield Teams, while driving the formulation of patient-centric strategies and innovative customer experiences.
- A strategic and value-adding partner to all internal stakeholders, expert in performance optimization, capability building and change management, providing high-impact, integrated learning interventions to enable AbbVie Romania to be always ahead of the curve.
Main responsibilities:
- Strategize and implement comprehensive learning and transformation plans tailored to enhance capabilities within Brand Teams (especially Marketing), and Infield Teams, leveraging insights-driven methodologies.
- Champion the development and execution of ACE (Advanced Customer Experience) for healthcare professionals (HCPs), meticulously designed to align with strategic business objectives and foster superior customer engagement.
- Forge collaborative partnerships with Area Europe and International AbbVie CEx teams, synchronizing learning and development initiatives to ensure seamless alignment with overarching organizational objectives.
- Provide thought leadership on data-driven decision-making, equipping teams with the requisite business acumen to decipher complex data sets and drive strategic business outcomes.
- Demonstrate adeptness in leading and influencing without formal authority, cultivating a culture of learning, innovation, and collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Design and deploy bespoke training programs and workshops aimed at cultivating critical capabilities such as customer engagement, market analysis, and strategic planning, tailored to the unique needs of the organization.
- Conduct rigorous evaluations of learning interventions and change management initiatives, synthesizing feedback and refining approaches to optimize impact and effectiveness.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on best practices in learning and development, remaining abreast of industry trends and innovations to inform strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for process optimization, operational efficiency, and enhanced organizational effectiveness, showcasing a keen business acumen throughout all interactions.
- Support the compliance, updating, and monitoring of Compliance aspects related to the activities of Learning Team for the implementation of Advance Customer Experience models and other CEx change management programs.
- Lead by example, motivate, and inspire peers to "raise the bar" and achieve superior performance and Ways of Working.
- Act as a multiplier and role model within the CEx team, catalysing the sharing of best practices, superior performance, and optimal Ways of Working.
- Engage regularly with Infield Teams by participating in field activities to gather actionable insights for tailoring effective learning plans for each team.
- Coordinate and conduct one-to-one coaching sessions with Infield Team members, in close alignment with the Sales Manager, to support and accelerate the professional development of medical reps through personalized coaching interventions.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Education, Organizational Development, or related field; Master's degree highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in learning and development, change management, or organizational transformation roles, along with demonstrated expertise in the commercial area, supported by a proven track record of delivering impactful results in a corporate environment.
- Demonstrated business acumen, with a profound understanding of pharmaceutical industry dynamics, market trends, and competitive landscape, essential for effectively influencing business partners and driving strategic decision-making.
- Strong people management skills, including the ability to lead, motivate, and develop others to achieve high performance, in a psychologically safe environment
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to build and nurture collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in strategic thinking, analytical problem-solving, and project management, underpinned by a strong results-oriented mindset.
- Positive attitude and “can-do” approach in problem solving, always looking for opportunities to improve.
- Thorough knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and change management frameworks, supplemented by a continuous quest for learning and self-improvement.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing competing priorities with grace and agility, while inspiring and motivating others to achieve excellence.
- Fluency in both written and spoken Romanian and English is essential for effective communication and collaboration in a multicultural environment.

Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
