Purpose Statement:
The Junior Communications Specialist supports the development and delivery of clear, timely, and accurate internal communications that inform employees and support engagement. Under the direction of the Government Affairs & Communications Director, the role assists with drafting, formatting, coordinating, and distributing communications across internal channels, as well as supporting employee engagement activities, internal events, social media, and agency coordination activities. The position manages routine assignments, maintains agreed timelines, and ensures materials align with approved communication, brand, compliance, and company standards.
Responsibilities:
Internal Content Development
- Support the preparation of internal communication activities under the direction of the Government Affairs & Communications Director.
- Draft, edit, format, proofread, and distribute internal communications, including announcements, newsletters, presentations, talking points, intranet content, and campaign materials.
- Support the development and distribution of communications related to business updates, company priorities, employee initiatives, and organizational activities.
- Support with creating social media content ensuring content aligns with corporate branding guidelines & strict industry regulations.
- Assist with the preparation of communication materials for different employee audiences and internal stakeholders.
2. Communication Channels and Events
- Support the preparation and maintenance of content for internal communication channels, including email, newsletters, intranet, collaboration tools, employee meetings, and town halls.
- Assist with the coordination of internal events, employee engagement activities, leadership meetings, business updates, and culture initiatives.
- Support the scheduling and distribution of approved communication materials through appropriate internal channels.
3. Stakeholder and Team Support
- Respond to routine communication requests from internal stakeholders.
- Provide administrative and coordination support to the Communications function.
- Coordinate routine follow-up with internal stakeholders under the direction of the Government Affairs & Communications Director.
- Assist with the local adaptation and distribution of communication materials provided by regional or global Communications teams.
- Collaborate with colleagues across functions to gather information and support communication activities.
- Maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and seek guidance when required.
4. Brand, Compliance, and Quality
- Prepare communication materials in accordance with approved Corporate Branding Guidelines, compliance, and privacy rules.
- Review materials for accuracy, clarity, consistency, formatting, and completeness.
- Ensure that required approvals are obtained before communications are distributed.
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and follow applicable company policies and procedures.
- Escalate complex, sensitive, potentially high-risk, or competing-priority matters to the Government Affairs & Communications Director.
5. Reporting and Continuous Improvement
- Collect basic communication activity information, employee feedback, and results.
- Support the preparation of communication activity updates and basic reports.
- Maintain accurate records of communication activities, deliverables, and timelines.
- Looks for opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of communication activities.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience, including internships, co-op placements, graduate roles, or entry-level experience.
- Exposure to communications, content development, employee engagement, events, marketing, public relations, or a related area.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.
- Foundational business writing, editing, proofreading, and presentation-development skills
- Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to track assignments and meet agreed deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple routine assignments and prioritize work with guidance.
- Effective collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a willingness to learn and receive feedback.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Virtual meeting platforms (Microsoft teams, Zoom etc.) and basic Excel
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Process-oriented, adaptable, and able to work effectively in ambiguity.
- Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Interest in or exposure to healthcare, pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, or regulated industry.
Preferred
- Familiarity with SharePoint, intranet, collaboration tools, newsletters, and other digital communication platforms.
- Basic knowledge of corporate branding, visual communication, and content production.
- Experience or coursework involving social media, digital content, design, or multimedia communication.
- Basic knowledge of communication metrics, analytics, or employee feedback tools.
- Familiarity with working in a regional or multinational organization.

Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
