Company Description

The position is located within the Molecular & Imaging Biomarker Group in the Neuroscience Discovery organization at Ludwigshafen (Germany) and is planned for 6-9 months beginning in February/March.

The talented intern will make substantial contributions to the development of new biomarker approaches for neurodegenerative diseases in a collaborative research environment. A primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to develop and optimize ligand-binding assays, e.g. ELISA, with a focus on protein biomarkers for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.Previous lab experience would be an asset

Key Objectives

  • Plan, execute, analyze, and interpret experiments to support research activities under the supervision of an awesome mentor.
  • Plan details of experiments and maintain a lab notebook.
  • Operate scientific equipment (e.g. microplate readers, automated liquid handlers) and utilize software tools to analyze and interpret data.
  • Contribute to team meetings and discussions and present results to the Molecular & Imaging Biomarkers team.

Job Description

Qualifications

  • Master level student (undergraduate) in neuroscience or related life science field.
  • Affiliation to university is required for the entire duration of the contract.
  • Good communication skills and proficiency in English (written and oral) are required.
  • High scientific rigor and commitment.
  • A high degree of flexibility and curiosity.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Ability to present scientific activities and results.

The position can also be offered as a working student position if desired.
