Internship in Neuroscience Discovery (all genders)
We are seeking an intern to join our In Vivo Pharmacology Group within the Neuroscience Discovery organization in Ludwigshafen, Germany. This internship position is available for approximately 6 months, starting in March 2025.
As a talented student, you will substantially contribute to the optimization and execution of new therapeutic approaches to neurodegenerative diseases in a collaborative environment. Your responsibilities will include performing histological and/or biochemical analyses on tissues derived from disease-relevant animal models.
Key Objectives
- Execute, analyze, and interpret experiments to support research activities under the supervision of a mentor.
- Plan details of experiments and maintain a lab notebook.
- Operate scientific equipment and utilize software tools to analyze and interpret data.
- Execute immunohistochemistry, qPCR and protein biochemistry assays, including qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Contribute to group meetings and discussions and present results to the team.
Education and qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a Master's level student in neuroscience or a related life science field (enrollment must be maintained for the entire duration of the contract). Unfortunately, we do not offer the possibility to complete a master’s thesis.
- Good communication skills and proficiency in English (written and oral) are required.
- High scientific rigor and commitment.
- A high degree of self-initiative, flexibility, and curiosity.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal relationship skills.
- Ability to present scientific activities/results.
- Exposure to neuroscience projects and experience with immunohistochemical and biochemical assays would be an asset.
