As an Information Security Compliance Specialist in Business Technology Solutions (BTS) – Information Research, you’ll have opportunities to contribute to securing our data and assets that enable the research and development organization here at AbbVie to unlock information that makes cures possible for our patients and communities.
In this role you’ll be responsible for:
- Liaison between the security team and information research domain teams to ensure awareness of security vulnerabilities.
- Providing security expertise and direction to domain teams for guidance on the vulnerabilities within their respective areas.
- Collaborating and establishing partnerships with our business stakeholders, technology leaders, and external agencies to aid in outlining the remediation strategies for our security vulnerabilities.
- Operating as the subject matter expert and point person for all security related items within Information Research.
- Manage and support security risks by working with the domain teams to address security risk factors and apply compensating controls where applicable.
- Promote awareness, advocate, and enforce secure, safe, and compliance with our systems.
- Providing security training to drive towards a security first mindset with our domain teams.

Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree with +2 years; Masters with +0 years.
- Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Excellent Oral and Written communication skills.
- Demonstrating proficiency in areas such as network security, vulnerability management, incident response, and security protocols.
- The ability to analyze and interpret security data, identify patterns, and assess risks.
- Effectively conveying complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with various security tools such as intrusion detection systems and vulnerability scanners.
Beneficial:
- Work experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Certifications like Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- Proficiency with Software Development Lifecycle.
