Job opening context

AbbVie Belgium affiliate has been active in the treatment of patients suffering from hematologic malignancies for the last 8 years.

The AbbVie Oncology division will soon launch a new molecule in Solid Tumor, Ovarian Cancer. 

In order to optimally prepare this launch in Belgium and Luxembourg, the Commercial Team is looking for an In-Field Brand Manager, with marketing and sales responsibilities, working with a lot of autonomy and in close collaboration with the Medical Team and other Brand Team members.

This role is a unique opportunity to establish AbbVie as a partner in a new therapeutic area in which patients are in a huge unmet need.

Job purpose & objectives:

  • Prepare the launch in Belgium and Luxembourg, starting with the understanding of the Belgian market, the HealthCare Professionals involved in the treatment of patients suffering from Ovarian Cancer and Companion Diagnostic requirements
  • Define the Brand Strategy, with a particular focus on the Belgian market and the definition of local commercial tactics to address the needs of all our stakeholders, with a specific focus on HCPs and patients.  
  • Execute the Brand strategy In Field – in strong collaboration with the others In-Field and Brand Team members. Feed the Brand Team with relevant insights to support and loop back on strategy definition.
  • Ensure optimal reach-out in field via a multi-channel approach.
  • Be responsible for sales performance via an effective territory management and account-by-account approach.
  • Build strong customer relationships and understand customer needs - placing the patient into the center of any efforts and operating within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations.

Tasks and responsibilities :

Strategic Brand Planning

  • Get a deep understanding of Belgian and Luxembourg markets (Patient journey, HCPs universe, epidemiology, stakeholders’ needs, key environment trends and demand drivers) – including Companion Diagnostic implications – in close collaboration with Solid Tumor Medical Team   
  • Define Brand strategic imperatives and propose strong operational 1-year tactical plan– relying on guidance provided by Area / Global and with a cross-functional view and responsibility.
  • Ensure that Brand Story is defined in an accurate manner and with a patient –centric focus
  • Lead synthesis of insights from cross-functional teams
  • Monitor competitors’ activity and key data to adjust strategic planning and tactical plan
  • Network with Area / Global counterparts to ensure alignment and consistency with upper-level strategy

 Brand Plan Implementation

  • Translate Brand Plan into a Tactical Plan – identifying and defining concrete projects to implement our Brand strategy In Field –
  • Bring the Brand Story to life through Innovative and patient-centric marketing materials and campaigns including multi-stakeholders initiatives and multichannel opportunities
  • Design and implement national marketing activities including innovative marketing tactics, traditional and non-traditional partnership (such as Media plan, local congress participation…) – in close collaboration with other Hematology Brand Manager.                                                                  

  In Field presence

  • Be the commercial point of contact of OC treating HCPs Belgian and Luxembourg External Experts, ensuring a strong presence in field and optimal coverage based on a strongly pre-defined account plan.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers in order to maximize access and sales opportunities, leveraging optimally all communication channels, including digital ones

Compliance

  • Ensure 100% compliance with all appropriate division and statutory business and regulatory requirements, including Ethics & Compliance and Code of Business conduct procedures and protocols 

 


Qualifications

Required skills and competencies

  • Master Degree level
  • English – Dutch – French languages (fluent) – Dutch and French proficiency in speaking is key.  
  • Strong patient and customer focus, responding proactively to change in environment and customer needs
  • Autonomy and willingness to have full ownership of a product launch at national level – in a new therapeutic area
  • Strong understanding of all customer and stakeholder types and messages targeting
  • Vision and strategic thinking 
  • Project management and tactical planning skills
  • Effective communication and influence
  • Confident and fluent presentation
  • Highly accountable and takes responsibility for performance monitoring
  • Capacity to optimally manage time and diverse tasks

Experience

  • ~ 5 years professional experience – either in medical, sales or marketing role(s) – ideally in oncology
  • Cross-functional roles understanding (medical, sales, …) -  experience of working in other functions is a plus (Medical, Marketing, Sales, consulting, …)
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with tools such as Microsoft Office, Veeva, OneDrive would be an asset
