Main purpose:
Be a trusted partner helping to shape culture across North Africa countries (Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco & Libya), support the business strategies and find and develop the talent necessary to make a remarkable impact on AbbVie and patients in North Africa.
Fully develop our employees’ skills to leverage AbbVie’s diversity of opinions, cultures, and experiences in all what we do. Leverage best-in-class HR practices to continually construct, deliver and support programs that establish AbbVie as an employer of choice while empowering all employees at all levels of the organization.
Main Responsibilities
Partners with line management to provide a wide range of HR Support on employee requests (recruitment, retention, compensation, performance management & development) in coordination with our HR Centers of Excellence;
Partners with employees to provide a wide range of HR Support on their requests (payroll, admin…)
Serves as a partner to the business, implementing HR strategies, and providing HR solutions;
Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions);
Support people development initiatives across NA such mentoring, Training Plan, STA’s… from the definition to implementation
Responsible for driving affiliate and functional wide projects to deliver on the HR strategic initiatives
Responsible for ensuring the effective “delivery” of all HR programs and services. Responsible for HR results in the business, including client satisfaction, HR effectiveness, and associated financial results;
Trains and educates all employees on the effective use of HR tools and systems;
Establishes, builds, and maintains strong relationships with key HR partners from all Centers of Excellence and Service Centers to ensure elements of HR are successfully coordinated to meet business needs; includes relationship management, leadership, HR roles & responsibilities, and service delivery commitments;
Implement, develop a range of internal communication activities and initiatives to support management & employees;
Develops proposals and recommendations to resolve important issues affecting the business;
Serves as an extended member of brand teams to understand business needs and challenges;
Serves as an active member of the Culture team, identifying opportunities to improve our culture and employee engagement.
Identifies opportunities to simplify HR Policies & Procedures in line with the HR Strategy.
Manages HR onboarding and orientation for new employees.
Monitors employee turnover and proposes recommendations to improve retention and engagement.
Ensures compliance with all NA local country laws, regulations, policies, and practices.
Support EHS (Environment, Hygiene & Security) activities implementation in NA in compliance with laws & regulations and AbbVie standards.
Bachelor’s degree
5 to 7 years of human resources experience, preferably in a business partner capacity
Must be able to work independently with strong result focus.
Must have excellent analytical and communication skills including written and verbal.
Demonstrated success in workforce planning, performance, and talent management.
Working knowledge of local labor laws of Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia
Significant breadth of understanding of functional HR roles and responsibilities and impact on the business.
Project Management experience is a plus.
Fluent in English, French will be a plus for the role.

In NA: All employees and GM, ALT, finance, CeX, countries coordinators, culture team, WLA team, brand teams…
Outside affiliate: Regional/ Area team, HR center of excellence, service centers, Talent Acquisition team, EHS Manager
External Stakeholders:
Legal advisor, Tax advisor, insurance companies, third party providers …
Travel:
This role requires approximately 20% travel

Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
