Job Description

Looking for your next HR opportunity in a role with real variety, strong stakeholder exposure, and the chance to make an impact?

We’re looking for an HR Advisor to join our ANZ HR team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, building trusted relationships, and providing practical HR support across the employee lifecycle. In this role, you’ll work closely with HR Managers, employees and business leaders, while also taking ownership of routine HR support for smaller functions such as Business Technology Solutions, Legal, Communications and some other great internal customer groups. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive HR team, build your advisory capability, and gain exposure to a broad mix of HR responsibilities while having real ownership of smaller client groups.

If you’re looking for your next HR move and want a role where you can learn, contribute and grow, we’d love to hear from you!

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Provide practical HR advice and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employee lifecycle matters, independently managing routine HR support for selected small client groups and escalating more complex issues where needed.
  • Support line managers with employee lifecycle processes, including recruitment, onboarding, performance processes, development administration, and offboarding.
  • Support HR Managers with employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding coordination, induction administration, and maintaining accurate employee documentation.
  • Assist with preparing standard HR reports, documents, and presentations as requested by the HR team.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and support HR systems support in line with established processes and guidance.
  • Support routine HR administration and coordination across onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding.
  • Provide coordination and administrative support to HR Managers and the HR Director across people processes, initiatives, and day-to-day HR activities, while acting as the primary HR support for selected small functions such as BTS and Legal.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support for HR projects and initiatives led by HR Managers and the broader HR team.
  • Participate in wellbeing and/or EEDI committee activities as required.
  • Support ANZ visa administration activities, including application coordination, checks, and renewals in line with business requirements.
  • Attend talent and performance calibration sessions to document outcomes and provide coordination support as required.
  • Assist with preparing standard templates, forms, and documentation for local, area, and regional HR requirements as needed.
  • Provide general HR administrative support, including organisational chart updates, presentation preparation, employee letters, and internal announcements.
  • Support documentation and administrative requirements for compliance activities, audits, and internal HR processes.
  • Carry out other ad hoc HR and administrative duties as reasonably requested.
  • Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per AbbVie’s policies and procedures.
  • Proactively participate in AbbVie’s WHS programs, adhere to policies and promote a safe work environment at all times.
  • Adhere to AbbVie’s codes of conduct and compliance processes, including timely training and maintaining ethics and integrity.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in an HR Advisor, HR Coordinator, or similar HR support role
  • Sound knowledge of HR policies, practices, employment processes, and employee lifecycle activities.
  • Working knowledge of HR systems and Microsoft Office applications such as Workday, Dayforce, ServiceNow, HR Connect Portal, SmartRecruiters, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling employee records, documentation, and routine HR administration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with managers, employees, HR Managers, and the broader HR team.
  • Shows initiative, flexibility, and sound judgement, with the ability to manage routine and moderately complex tasks effectively, work with a degree of autonomy, and seek guidance when required.
  • Ability to work independently, use sound judgement, and know when to escalate
  • A proactive, team-focused approach and a genuine interest in building your HR career

Flexibility and Availability: In line with Australia’s 'Right to Disconnect' legislation, we recognise and respect employees' right to refuse contact outside of their working hours, unless such refusal is deemed unreasonable. As we operate in an international, matrixed environment, there may be occasions where your role requires participation in business meetings outside of standard hours. We value and support flexibility and appreciate your willingness to occasionally accommodate these requests to ensure effective collaboration and communication within our global team.
