Position Summary
The Health Technology Assessment (HTA) & Health Economics Manager is a key strategic role within AbbVie, responsible for leading health economic and HTA activities to support patient access to AbbVie’s innovative medicines. The role works in close partnership with affiliate cross-functional teams, area, global and the senior leadership team to shape evidence-based reimbursement, and market access strategies.
Key Responsibilities
HTA & Market Access Strategy:
- Lead the development and execution of local HTA and health economic strategies across current AbbVie portfolio and future pipelines.
- Support MA team in adapting global value propositions into locally relevant payer and HTA value narratives.
- Provide strategic input into pricing, reimbursement, and access decisions.
- Support senior leadership with evidence-based insights.
Health Economic Evidence Generation:
- Lead and oversee development of health economic models with the support of MA team and BT.
- Ensure methodological robustness and compliance with HTA standards.
- Identify evidence gaps and propose RWE / HEOR initiatives.
HTA Submissions & Dossier Management:
- Lead preparation and submission of HTA dossiers.
- Manage responses to HTA body questions.
- Monitor outcomes and refine strategies.
Cross-Functional & Leadership Collaboration:
- Partner with Market Access, Medical, Regulatory, Commercial, and Finance teams.
- Collaborate with area HEOR and Global HTA/HEOR teams.
- Present HTA insights into BT and senior leadership.
External Stakeholder Engagement:
- Support and lead external engagement with HTA bodies, payers, and academic experts.
- Stay updated on HTA policies and trends.
Project & Vendor Management:
- Manage HTA projects, timelines, budgets, and vendors.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy
- Master’s degree in health economics / Pharmacoeconomics or Health Technology Assessment (HTA)
- 3–5 years experience in HTA and/or Health economics
- Strong analytical, modelling and project management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Multinational pharma experience
- Strong knowledge of RWE methodologies and HTA guidelines
- Experience applying AI tools in Pharmacoeconomic and economic modelling
- Solid understanding of the Saudi healthcare system and reimbursement landscape

Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
