Job Description

Purpose Statement: 

Provide best-in-class Project Management work for China Development to deliver the most competitive innovation pipeline for AbbVie, conduct strategic milestone planning & timeline management for programs & projects, ensure compliance of all development activities, improve program & project’s processes and work efficiency, accelerate launch of AbbVie assets to patients in China. 

 

Major Responsibilities: 

  1. Support China program & project management work for innovative drugs & devices, ensuring a well-balanced value driven pipeline, conduct capturing of accurate project data and maintain the data pool, lead data analytic driven program & project prioritization and support active risk management of projects. 

  1. Support TA (Therapeutic Area) resource planning, provide active resourcing allocation management in collaboration with core team. 

  • Lead program resource allocation management for assigned Therapeutic Areas. 

  1. Support key Development initiatives & working groups to improve process excellence and work efficiency, support leadership team by enhancing overall performance agility of the China team. 

  1. Partner with China Ops & Quality teams to support development quality adherence & quality compliance of programs and projects.  

  1. Support initiatives to develop a high performing PPM team in China. 

  1. Support and contribute to project management related initiatives for clinical success with cross functional teams. 

  1. Identify cross project/cross function issues related to program & project management activities/operating models/processes and contribute to the solution. 

  1. Team & Talent development 

  1. Provide coaching and mentoring to junior team members.  

  1. Conduct team resource allocation in support of function head.  

  1. Potential team leader responsibilities leading 1-2 PMs.  


Qualifications

  • Experience:  

  1. Bachelor with 12 years+, Master with 10 years+, Ph. D with 6 years+ R&D Project/Program management experience with Multinational Company.  

  1. Familiar with overall pharmaceutical product development process and matrixed cross functional collaboration is preferred; Global working experience is a plus.  

 

  • Requirements:  

  1. Strong background in Program & Project management for Pharmaceuticals.  

  1. In-depth understanding of innovative pharmaceutical development processes, Immunology & Oncology Therapeutic Area experience preferred.  

  1. Good understanding of clinical development and regulatory process for new products & devices in China with good GMP/GCP knowledge.  

  1. Expert with Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office working suite tools is desired. Good understanding of Project Management Software is a plus.  

 

  • Soft Skills:  

  1. Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese. 

  1. Strong team leadership skills and sense of ownership. 

  1. Strong stakeholder management skills. 

  1. Data driven decision maker. 

  1. Excellent interpersonal skills.
