The Cost Accounting Analyst is responsible for reliable setup and maintenance of Financial Master Data and standard cost system setup for all active materials maintained by AbbVie Logistics. By doing so, the Analyst makes a valuable contribution to the “Control Tower” function VLOG has within AbbVie. The Cost Accounting Analyst is part of a team of 3 analysts and reports to the Finance Lead Direct Cost. The Cost Accounting Analyst will support the Finance Lead and/or the Controller directly and indirectly by making a substantial contribution to the VLOG Finance business plan and strategic initiatives. He/she is aware of and works within the legal and company regulations and actively contributes to the governance processes and culture.
Responsibilities
- Primary contact for master data set-up and costing of all active materials (currently 9500+) in two legal entities both ad-hoc and in annual cycles
- Support AbbVie product launches and ensure end to end Finance readiness
- Provide AbbVie affiliates, brand teams and other stakeholders with costing information upon request
- Support, align and submit monthly performance estimates and yearly Financial Performance Plan
- Assess impact and coordinate Finance activities related to changes in Product Financial Flows
- Develop and maintain Internal Control Framework related to inventory valuation and material costing
- Act as point of contact for the Supply department regarding planned shipments, material cost and spend
- Look for ways to optimize finance systems/models and help roll out global project implementations
- Coordinate and / or prepare special ad hoc information requests or projects to support local, division or corporate management
- Support reporting and analysis of monthly Financial results for AbbVie purchasing activity from Third Party Manufacturing (TPM), Internal Toll Manufacturing (ITM) or Supply Chain performed by two legal entities based in the Netherlands.
- Master or Bachelor in business economics, accountancy (CPA/CIMA) or Supply Chain
- 2-3 years of experience and good track record as a business analyst, financial analyst or equivalent
- Understanding of US and local GAAPs, internal controls and financial reporting is beneficial
- Strong analytical skills and deep MS office knowledge within a financial environment required
- Preferably experience with logistical processes and/or international matrix organization
- Prior experience with SAP is beneficial
- Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Self-starter, proactive mentality and focused on Continuous Improvement
- Work well both in a team and autonomously
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are required
- Flexible in working hours, dealing with ambiguous and competing priorities
- Excellent organizational skills are required
- Hybrid working model: 3 days working in the office in Zwolle
