Purpose Statement:
- The FM oversees the financial planning and analysis processes and requirements across the Eye Care Business Unit. Provides financial guidance whilst operating within AbbVie business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations, provides business decision support and leads key projects and initiatives to improve financial processes. The FM provides required planning deliverables to meet AbbVie FP&A requirements.
Major Responsibilities:
- Oversee / manage all aspects of monthly, quarterly and annual Budget, Long Range Plan and Latest Best Estimates as required, including P&L’s and Headcount reporting. Partners with business and proposes solutions to achieve budget within guidelines and to operate within approved budget.
- Provides relevant variance analysis for each planning cycle and develops meaningful management reporting schedules and ensures accuracy and predictability of results and key metrics.
- Brand Team Finance Lead - Represent Finance capacity on department Brand Team and support. Brand Team strategy to achieve Brand Team KPI's. This includes ad hoc analysis.
- Supports Financial Support Services (FSS) monthly close process to ensure complete, accurate and timely monthly actual results, including variance analysis and commentary for P&L and headcount.
- Understands monthly results and both prepares and reviews meaningful monthly Affiliate Management Team (AMT) reporting packages.
- Support MEAR Region Team by being the first point of contact for issues and questions.
- Working closely with supply chain team on country demand review to understand In-market performance and highlight risks, if any, to management’s attention, to implement correction plan.
- Collaborate and provides routine business support to enable informed decision-making.
- Provides financial reviews and approvals (PTP PO’s and ACR’s)
- Support key projects and initiatives (e.g. planning system improvement, management reporting and optimization) and drives process improvements.
- Support ad-hoc analysis as required.
- Manage all aspects of the annual standard costing process.
Qualifications:
- Completed articles
- CA (SA) qualified.
- B Com Hons (Accounting) may be considered if candidate has post-article experience in FP&A function
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of progressive and related experience in FP&A.
- Prior experience in a FP&A position supporting a Global/ International commercial organisation in the Pharmaceutical / FMCG industry will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of SAP, and BPC a plus.

- Advanced levels of proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
