Job Description

Purpose:

The Finance Lead drives the financial planning and analysis processes and requirements across businesses supported. Ensures compliance with financial policies, prepares management analysis of actual vs. benchmark results, prepares financial analysis and implements process improvements for direct area of responsibility. Provides accurate and timely financial analysis and planning deliverables to meet both Corporate Admin and AbbVie Corporate FP&A requirements.         

Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial support to Waco business unit section manager(s).
  • Oversee / manage all aspects of monthly, quarterly, and annual Plan, LRP and LBEs as required, including P&L, headcount, balance sheet and capital using planning system. Partners with business and proposes solutions to achieve budget within guidelines and to operate within approved budget.
  • Provides relevant variance analysis for each planning cycle and develops meaningful management reporting schedules and ensures accuracy and predictability of results and key metrics.
  • Supports Accounting Shared Service monthly close process to ensure complete, accurate and timely monthly actual results, including variance analysis and commentary for P&L. Understands monthly results and both prepares and reviews meaningful monthly management reporting packages with businesses.
  • Responsible for assisting the Waco team in the Monthly Operations Review, identification of areas for cost reductions and operational improvements, annual budget process, periodic forecasting, and periodic analysis of operations performance.
  • Maintain internal controls and account reconciliations for respective business unit inventory to ensure appropriate inventory valuation and safeguards.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis to support decision making.

 


Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • MBA in Accounting or Finance and/or CPA desirable.
  • Manufacturing costing / accounting experience preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of finance/accounting. 
  • Knowledge and proficiency in systems, particularly MS Excel and SAP, is critical. 
  • Possess a working knowledge of the Corporate Financial Manual (CFM) and the ability to apply the correct policy to business issues. 
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills. 
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and achieve required timelines.
  • Familiarity with standard cost variances analysis preferred.
