Purpose
The Finance Lead, Strategic Investment will provide financial guidance, business partnership, and support for the Strategic Capital Deployment business unit. Scope will include support for the Strategic Capital Deployment group which is currently engaged in executing critical projects in excess of $2,800MM with a pipeline of future projects under consideration. The position will execute a wide range of responsibilities including stewardship of financial controls, project and portfolio reporting, capital and project expense planning, financial analysis including RCE assessment. In addition, the position will assume a role in third-party alliance management for Operations directed partnerships and alliances with third parties. This includes the full scope of contract management, governance and accounting for these agreements. This position is part of AbbVie’s Operations Finance group and is an individual contributor but will liaise with cross-functional groups (for example, project accounting.) This individual should possess strong analytical, communication, presentation, and process improvement skills. This individual should also work well in a matrixed organization.
Responsibilities
- Provide sound financial analysis and scenario planning for functional decision support.
- Provide coordination, consolidation, and management of Actuals, Plan, Latest Best Estimate (LBE) and Long Range Plan (LRP) cycles, including capital, expense, and headcount.
- Ensures complete, accurate and timely monthly actual results, including variance analysis and commentary. Understands monthly results and communicates issues vs. benchmark to business unit management.
- Ensure uniform and consistent recording and reporting of fiscal transactions. Maintain the integrity and control of general ledger accounts through review and analysis.
- Identifies and implements continuous process improvement opportunities for end-to-end processing of transactions and reporting.
- Develop and maintain program, portfolio and project financial health dashboarding and reporting.
- Maintains robust master data management for accounts/cost centers/etc. impacting business unit operations and results.
- Provide ad hoc analysis to support complex decision making.
- Ensure adequate financial and system controls are maintained consistent with AbbVie Corporate Financial Manual (CFM) policies and procedures as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- B.S./B.A. Accounting/Finance required.
- 6 plus years relevant finance experience.
- Cost and project accounting experience required.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Comfortable presenting to large audiences and various levels of management.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and SAP.
- Operations Finance experience preferred.
- CPA/MBA preferred.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this roleat the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on manyfactors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. Pay Range: $
96500 - 183500 USD
Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
