Job Description

  • Reporting to the Region Finance Director for CEE with dotted line to the GM.
  • Part of the Affiliate Management Team and leading a team of 11 across Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia and B&H

Job Objective:

Responsible to maximize financial performance and drive business growth and risk management of the Adriatic & Hungary Affiliate’s operations by acting as a strategic partner, leading the Finance Team providing guidance to all internal & External stakeholders, managing the P&L, optimizing Operational Excellence, supporting financial reporting & Data interpretation, & securing Internal Controls and Compliance & maximizing synergies.

Highlighted Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Decision Partner

  • Partner with & provide guidance to the General Manager, the Region / Area team, providing strategic support in the decision making, proposing educated and effective solutions.
  • Be a trusted advisor, proactively monitoring & identifying opportunities and risks as they arise to consistently deliver on the business objectives.
  • Collaboratively work to develop appropriate solutions and contingency plans.
  • Effectively and clearly communicate actual results with variance analysis and commentary to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Finance Team Management & support to Internal & External Stakeholders
  • Provide leadership to build, maintain and develop a strong, high-performing AbbVie Finance Team and ensure appropriate relationship.
  • Act as a single point of contact for GM and Region / Area teams on financial topics.

P&L Management

  • Manage & supervise the budget planning cycles: Last Best Estimate - LBE, Update, Plan, LRP, Entity plan:
  • Provide guidance to Affiliate Finance Teams & Other internal Stakeholders
  • Accurately forecast sales and financial performance by utilizing and challenging commercial models and expense assumptions.
  • Coordinate brands’ P&Ls, maintain overview of budget and spending.
  • Ensure plans are accurate and well supported, providing scenarios to support forecasting activities.

Operational Excellence (demand, supply & customer service) in conjunction with the GM:

  • Lead, enhance & maintain the S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) process to ensure that sales forecasts are both challenging and achievable and that product demand and supply are appropriately managed and guaranteed.
  • Monitor variables affecting supply and distribution performance and ensure corrective action

Financial Reporting and Data Interpretation

  • Coordinate collaboration between Financial Shared Services (FSS) and local team to review, prepare and complete timely, well documented and accurate month-end closing.
  • Supervise the monthly analysis to include appropriate variance analysis and provide clear and concise commentary to expand management’s understanding and drive for results.
  • Manage the tracking and analysis of actuals versus budget for Affiliate, brands, functions and specific campaigns; Monitor local operations performance against financial plans/updates/LBEs

Qualifications

Skills and Experience:

  • Business/Financial/Accounting bachelor’s or master’s Degree
  • Broad financial management and control experience (min 10 years)
  • Business performance experience (i.e. Commercial, Financial Planning and Analysis)
  • Experience in dealing with international accounting issues, including exchange and entity planning.
  • Dynamic, engaging and collaborative leader with a passion for getting the best out of people and teams; Commands the respect of others; recognized as a person of high integrity, sincerity and in whom others place their trust.
  • Excellent communicator with an ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people, and able to present a highly professional image when representing the organization
  • Lead complex projects, assignments and exposure in multiple Divisions/businesses
  • Communicating with external stakeholder including tax authorities/auditors
  • Global experience: international assignment and/or supported international projects
