Job Description

The Executive Director US Marketing is responsible for the strategy development and commercialization of the leading acellular tissue matrix. Responsibilities include, product and clinical development strategy, pricing and value proposition strategy, commercial strategy development (including business model design), professional campaign development, lifecycle strategy and product launch.

This position works in close collaboration with cross functional groups to ensure success; R&D, Medical Affairs, sales, trade and distribution, finance, supply operations. Therefore, this individual should be highly collaborative, as they will be working with various internal customers and external partners, as well as getting buy-in from key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a solid track-record demonstrating strong business acumen, where s/he has successfully taken ideas from inception to completion.

  • Responsible for leading a comprehensive brand plan for product and programs for our KOLS, key customer groups, including the development of budgets, sales and production forecasts to achieve targets and profit objectives.
  • Develops and maintains a customer focus that includes effective working relationships with KOL customers and sales teams in conjunction with strategy and campaign development.
  • Develop digital strategy and content, working cross functionally across the PRM portfolio to ensure fully integrated campaign.
  • Directs the marketing team to maximize utilization of resources, as well as, provides professional development, coaching and performance management of the team. Hires and develops a high functioning and effective team.
  • Directs market research and integrates insights into tactical execution.
  • Monitors the competitive landscape to support recommendations for initiatives to ensure strategy is robust.
  • Works closely with R&D on product development to ensure strategies are aligned, as well as needs for phase 4 & IIT studies for post approval promotion.
  • Tight working relationship with Medical Affairs to ensure market launches and plans are effectively supported.
  • Reviews and responds to changing market dynamics, as indicated through market analysis, customer interaction and sales input, to ensure achievement of goals by directing activities of product management and working with medical/marketing communications.
  • Must conduct their work activities in compliance with all Allergan internal requirements and with all applicable regulatory requirements.  Allergan internal requirements include compliance with ethics, environmental health and safety, financial, human resources, and general business policies, requirements and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or other advanced degree desired.
  • Minimum 10+ years of professional industry experience, including at least 3+ years in managerial positions at a medium-to-large health care company (pharma, device, OTC or FMCG).
  • 5+ years consumer marketing/advertising/PR experience – pharma preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience with professional campaign development and execution.
  • Knowledge of health care and/or pharmaceutical industry preferred (not mandatory).
  • Solid knowledge of marketing areas including product positioning, marketing plan development and execution, strategic communications, product launch, etc.
  • Successful track record of strategic and tactical marketing.
  • Experience launching pharmaceutical products preferred.
