Job Description

We are looking for an Environmental, Process Safety and Containment Engineer to join our EHS Team in Ballytivnan, Sligo. This position reports to the EHS Manager. You will be responsible for the comprehensive management of the site's environmental and process safety programs. This includes ensuring regulatory compliance, educating the workforce, conducting sampling and environmental impact assessments, and contributing to the Preventing Catastrophic Incidents (PCI) program through effective process safety management.  You will be a subject matter expert (SME) in containment standards for high potent Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADCs) and will collaborate closely with the site engineering team to implement New Product Introductions (NPIs).   

Roles and Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the site's environmental program, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.  
  • Educate and train the workforce on environmental practices and process safety standards.  
  • Conduct environmental sampling and perform impact assessments to guide decision-making.  
  • Manage the site's process safety program to prevent catastrophic incidents and ensure operational safety.  
  • Serve as the SME in containment standards for high potent Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADC), providing guidance and expertise.  
  • Collaborate with the site engineering team to facilitate NPIs, ensuring seamless integration of new products.  
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of chemical engineering principles relevant to site operations and safety.  
  • Must be willing to reskill and seek further education if required to remain current with industry developments.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or MSc. degree in chemical engineering or a related field such as Environmental, Process Safety, Occupational Health & Safety.  
  • 5+ years experience in environmental management and process safety, ideally gained in pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing.  
  • Proficiency knowledge of containment standards for high potent ADCs.  
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to collaborate closely with engineering teams.  
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to educate various stakeholders.  
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective safety and environmental strategies.
