Architectural Design: Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available cloud architectures using AWS services. Ensure that solutions meet business requirements and comply with industry best practices.
Data Management: Develop and oversee data architecture strategies, including data warehousing, data lakes, and real-time data processing. Optimize data storage and retrieval for performance and cost-efficiency.
Cloud Migration: Lead and manage cloud migration projects, including the assessment of current systems, planning, and execution of migrations to AWS.
Integration: Ensure seamless integration of cloud solutions with on-premises systems and other cloud platforms. Design APIs and data integration solutions as needed.
Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce cloud security best practices and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of cloud-based systems and data solutions. Identify and address potential issues related to scalability, availability, and latency.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, data scientists, and business analysts, to understand their needs and provide effective solutions.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architectures, data models, and integration processes.
Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services and cloud technologies. Evaluate new tools and practices to continually improve our cloud and data strategies.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of experience, Master’s degree with 6 years of AWS or similar experience, or PhD with 2 years of experience in designing and architecting complex solutions within highly regulated environments.
- Proven track record as an AWS Solution Architect or in a similar position.
- Experience in establishing technology standards for an organization.
- Familiarity with architecture frameworks, including design patterns and distributed applications, as well as the AWS Well-Architected Framework, focusing on reuse.
- Experience with Big Data platforms such as Cloudera (CDH/CDP) and AWS EMR.
- Proficiency with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, Route 53, VPC, and IAM.
- Knowledge of programming technologies like Java, Python, Kafka, and Spark.
- Experience with data technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, Big Data, R, and GraphQL.
- Ability to build cloud-native data platforms that support data analytics, reporting, model development, and machine learning.
- Experience managing and enhancing cloud-native data lakes and data warehouse platforms.
- Skilled in creating Proof of Concepts (POCs) to demonstrate the integration of innovative technologies that can enhance client offerings.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members and colleagues on development and operational best practices.

- Advocate and define cloud/data architecture vision from a strategic perspective, including internal and external platforms, tools, and systems.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Establish, maintain, and review architectural models with a focus on microservices in a cloud environment.
- Provide leadership in adherence to processes (i.e., design walk through and approval processes, Platform / System documentation, change management, SDLC, etc.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment for cloud platform projects
- DevOps/Platform background (AWS, Cloud Formation, Terraform, Kubernetes, Linux/Bash, Docker, CI/CD)
