Ensure the reliability of equipment used at AbbVie and manage the procurement, installation, maintenance, and control of equipment to meet safety, quality, and production objectives, while complying with the safety and ergonomics standards and procedures established by the company.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Carry out improvement projects for equipment used in the production area.
Advise various cross-functional groups on improvement projects regarding electromechanics and/or the installation, relocation, and testing of equipment at AbbVie.
Coordinate and supervise the installation, relocation, and testing of equipment requested by project or process engineering.
Obtain quotes from suppliers for repairs and the purchase of new or replacement equipment.
Update stakeholders on equipment status during production meetings to ensure proper equipment operation.
Review and approve preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with company requirements and procedures.
Train maintenance technicians based on the competencies and skills required by the engineering department.
Execute and close out discrepancy reports and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) assigned to the maintenance department.
Manage spare parts inventory periodically to ensure equipment availability.
Monitor department metrics in accordance with company requirements.
Ensure compliance with corporate and legal EHS requirements by adhering to internal policies and procedures; ensure compliance through the adoption of strategies, internal controls, communication, and necessary training.
Continuously improve EHS results through commitment and active participation in all EHS-related initiatives.
Perform all other duties inherent to the role and those assigned by the immediate supervisor.
- Bachelor's degree in Electronic or Electromechanical Engineering, or equivalent in a technical field or related experience.
- Intermediate English proficiency (B2 level).
- American Visa
- At least three (3) years of experience in the electronics industry.
- At least two (2) years of experience in the medical device industry.
- At least two (2) years of experience as a Technical Drafter (electrical/mechanical drafting)

Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
