PURPOSE STATEMENT
The student participating in the AbbVie Student Program in Costa Rica must carry out all assigned functions or tasks in the area, aligned with the project or objective for which they were selected. These tasks must be associated with their field of study, allowing the student to develop and apply what they have learned in their degree, while complying with all company policies and regulations. The student may perform these functions in any area of the company.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out assigned projects and tasks with appropriate diligence and care.
- Participate in learning and development activities and keep up to date with all assigned training.
- Provide assistance to operations in accordance with Quality, Environmental Management, and Occupational Health and Safety (EHS) systems, promoting continuous improvement.
- Comply with all EHS procedures and policies, including incident reporting, the use of personal protective equipment, and the management and disposal of waste.
- Present to staff leaders and managers the accomplishments of assigned projects and tasks, as well as the main learnings acquired during the program.
- Comply with any other applicable program according to the functions of the position.
EDUCATION
• Active student in a university or technical program at an accredited institution in Costa Rica.
• Must have a solid academic performance.
• Must have completed at least 50% of the program of study for the current degree.
• Must have a minimum English level of B2 according to the Common European Framework.
• Must possess the basic knowledge required for the tasks assigned in the project.
SKILLS
• Demonstrate verbal, written, and problem-solving skills necessary for the project or internship.
• Demonstrate interpersonal and leadership skills required for the project or internship.
• Demonstrate good teamwork skills, adaptability, innovation, initiative, and integrity.
EXPERIENCE
• No work experience required.
Additional Requirements
• Must have student insurance.
• Must have insurance from the Costa Rican Social Security Fund.

Where We Work
Role is exclusively performed at a site or office and onsite presence is required. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
