District Manager – Buy & Bill Environment

Join a high-performing team dedicated to advancing patient care in specialized therapeutic areas, including Prostate Cancer/Urology and OB/GYN. As District Manager, you will lead and inspire in-field commercial teams, fostering a strong culture of collaboration, empowerment, and teamship. You will coordinate all district activities to ensure targets for increasing sales within your assigned geography are consistently achieved. Additionally, you will drive performance by creating, implementing, and communicating the District Sales Plan, while continuously monitoring progress.

This role offers the opportunity to operate within a unique Buy & Bill environment, making a significant impact across both large institutions and private practice settings. Success in this position will require the ability to learn and develop an in-depth understanding of Buy & Bill processes. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success and the ability to lead a diverse team while enhancing organizational culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop, and motivate commercial teams to achieve district sales goals.
  • Cultivate a positive, inclusive culture focused on teamwork and shared success.
  • Create, implement, and communicate District Sales Plans; monitor progress and adapt as needed.
  • Operate effectively in Buy & Bill environments across both large institutions and private practices.
  • Apply expertise in disease states, including Prostate Cancer/Urology and OB/GYN.
  • Coordinate in-field activities to achieve targets. Maximize market, segment, and team dynamics to drive both top- and bottom-line results.
  • Ensure smooth, collaborative efforts in both daily operations and long-term business execution. Set the tone and pace for business processes and organizational effectiveness.
  • Understand and present market and franchise/business perspectives when leading teams and championing in-field meetings, by developing mastery of product and disease state information, as well as relevant market dynamics, including the managed care landscape.
  • Coach, mentor, educate, and develop direct and indirect team members to enhance individual skills and elevate overall team performance. Hold direct reports accountable for behaviors and performance expectations.
  • Provide direction and insights to key internal partners during the business planning process.
  • Consistently exemplify the AbbVie Ways of Working.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred; or relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
  • Strong business analysis and planning skills that drive sales performance.
  • Proven leadership experience, previous field leadership experience is preferred (external and other leadership management experience will be considered). Must be in good standing with safety and compliance standards, currently meeting performance expectations, living the AbbVie Way, and effectively demonstrating leadership attributes.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to clearly articulate the scientific aspects of treatments and therapeutic areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide candid, effective feedback, efficiently manage performance, and develop talent for promotional opportunities.
  • Proven ability to foster a culture of winning and full team engagement.
  • This role requires satisfying all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations in your assigned territory. You must be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain these credentials.
  • Valid driver’s license, the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test, and compliance with safe driving requirements.

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
