This role is field-based, and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.
The geography includes the following: Northern California – Bay Area north to Oregon border, south to Central Valley
- Interpret national and regional strategies for sales representatives, while developing and executing a district strategy that aligns with national and regional objectives.
- Lead sales team to achieve/exceed sales goals and execution KPIs through clear communication, direction and follow through.
- Ensure smooth, collaborative efforts in both day to day and long-term business execution with direct reports and internal business partners.
- Foster a culture of business ownership and accountability. Maximize market, segment, and team dynamics to drive top and bottom-line results.
- Achieve mastery of product/disease state information to support coaching team members.
- Coach, mentor, educate and develop a diverse and motivated sales team to enhance individual skills and elevate overall team performance. Hold direct reports accountable to behaviors and expectations.
- Ensure prioritization of multiple demands through consistent communication and reward and recognition with representatives.
- Understand and present a market and franchise/business point of view when leading teams, incorporating pertinent market dynamics, including Managed Care landscape. Experience working in CO/NM/TX markets preferred.
- Respond quickly to changes in local markets, leveraging knowledge and resources to address opportunities and threats. Formulate contingency plans that ensure achievement of results under changing conditions.
- Collaborate with internal business partners to share key account insights. Identify growth opportunities, develop and execute strategies and tactics that lead to a positive impact on the business.
- Consistently exemplify the AbbVie Ways of Working and adhere to all compliance expectations; ensure the same of all team members.
Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 3-5 years minimum selling experience within the pharmaceutical industry. Specialty/biologics preferred. Dermatology preferred.
- 2-3 years minimum sales management experience with proven ability to drive results and exceed job responsibilities and expectations. Specialty/biologic leadership experience strongly preferred. Dermatology preferred.
- Business analysis and planning skills that drive sales performance.
- Excellent business judgment and decision making skills.
- Strong communication skills and high emotional intelligence.
- Proven ability to build a strong team culture and climate and foster engagement.
- Able to articulate and coach to the scientific aspects of products and therapeutic areas.
- Proven ability to deliver candid, effective coaching feedback and manage performance. Ability to develop talent for promotional opportunities.
- Collaborates and demonstrates ability to influence without authority across organizations.
- Valid driver’s license: Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements.
- Driving a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment
