Job Description

Onsite requirement: 3 days per week in North Chicago, IL 

The Director of Supplier Diversity & Sustainability is responsible for spearheading the integration of equity, equality, diversity & inclusion (EEDI) and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives into the procurement process. This pivotal role involves developing and executing long-term strategies to embed these principles in supplier selection and procurement workflows. It includes establishing EEDI and ESG policies, creating training programs for procurement staff, ensuring effective communication and integration of these criteria in procurement activities. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and execution of long-term strategies for integrating EEDI and ESG considerations into the procurement process, creating value through enhanced sustainability and inclusivity in procurement activities.

  • Establish Supplier EEDI and ESG policies, setting a foundation for ethical and responsible procurement practices that contribute to organizational value generation.

  • Oversee the development of the Supplier Diversity & Economic Inclusion Roadmap and track performance of key enterprise-wide objectives.

  • Use EEDI and ESG policies to inform the creation of training programs for procurement staff, fostering a culture of awareness and responsibility.

  • Ensure EEDI and ESG considerations are embedded into supplier selection processes, leading strategies for effective communication and integration into the procurement workflow.

  • Oversee the development of systems to track supplier EEDI and ESG performance, generating regular reports to keep stakeholders informed about the progress in meeting EEDI and ESG goals.

  • Continuously assess and refine EEDI and ESG policies and procedures, adapting to changing internal and external requirements, including relevant regulations and industry best practices.

  • Provide strategic leadership to a team, guiding them in implementing and advocating for EEDI and ESG practices within the procurement function.

  • Engage with high-level internal and external supplier stakeholders, representing the organization as a thought leader in EEDI and ESG matters within the procurement community and beyond, thereby strengthening the team's expertise and influence in these critical areas.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree is preferred.

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or related business or operations function.

  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and managing senior internal business and functional leaders.

  • Proven expertise in category management and detailed understanding of supplier diversity and sustainability.

  • Experience leading the development of EEDI and ESG strategy in a procurement function.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

  • Knowledge and experience with the Billion Dollar Roundtable highly preferred.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
