Serve as the principal advisor and right hand to the Vice President of Value & Evidence, supporting strategy development, operational excellence, and cross-functional initiatives.
Lead strategic planning and execution for V&E, aligning business objectives with enterprise goals. Includes providing direction and oversight across V&E to ensure effective planning, execution and assessment of progress to maximize organizational impact.
Drive operational effectiveness by building and optimizing processes, reporting, and performance metrics and/or managing operational initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
Designs and implements control systems and metrics to ensure efficient, effective, high quality, and timely V&E services and deliverables.
Serve as chief communicator and facilitator for leadership team meetings, program reviews, and major initiatives. Includes defining agendas, managing topics/decisions/actions, and contributing as a member of the leadership team.
Leverage this leadership team to provide guidance and foster strong alignment across V&E pillars, MHI and cross-functional partners across AbbVie.
Leverage V&E team to highlight best practices and shared learnings across V&E pillars and cross functional partners to continually improve processes, streamline tool development and engage V&E employees.
Partner with stakeholders across research, medical, development, and commercial to coordinate V&E projects and shared initiatives.
Empower data driven decisions on resource allocation, process and quality improvement across V&E pillars. Contribute to the operational support of the V&E budget, headcount and capital asset planning.
Support change management, culture, and talent development efforts within the function.
Serve as ambassador of Value & Evidence and maintain strong connectivity with strategic planning & operations leads from other MHI pillars and stakeholder functions.
Provide strategic direction and oversight across the Value & Evidence teams to ensure effective planning, execution and assessment of progress to maximize organizational impact.
Recruit, develop and retain diverse talent to the V&E Operations team that delivers actionable insights from the pillars and enables the effective implementation of global initiatives.
Advanced degree (science, health care, technology/informatics, business management) and greater than or equal to 10 years of pharmaceutical experience, with direct people management and demonstrated leadership success in a pharmaceutical or biotech company. 5 – 7 years of pharmaceutical management experience required, with demonstrated understanding of the complexities and success of working in the global pharmaceutical environment.
Higher degree or certifications (e.g. MS., MBA, LSS, Masters in Project Management, PMP) preferred
Strong business acumen and learning agility; ability to leverage business principles to support V&E, MHI and enterprise initiatives
Proven leadership skills to lead and influence cross-functional matrix teams
Strong communicator and ability to influence across the enterprise
Demonstrated ability to deliver results, effectively manage teams, partner with cross-functional colleagues, build strong relationships and serve as a role-model for leadership behaviors
Experience working with a global mindset to deliver on business priorities and objectives
Commitment to building and developing team members and deliver effective coaching and feedback

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.

Pay Range: $
177000 - 336000 USD
Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
