The Director of Market Access Marketing – Emraclidine, will be responsible for the development and execution of the US Market Access launch strategy and tactics for Emraclidine, an investigational muscarinic agonist being studied to treat several mental health disorders.
Working as a member of AbbVie’s US Market Access organization, this individual will lead strategies and tactics to maximize access to Emraclidine for appropriate patients across all US payer channels (i.e. Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and VA), including Value Proposition development and execution. This role will function as the US Market Access subject matter expert as part of and in collaboration with members of the Emraclidine Integrated Brand Team, including Brand Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, HEOR, and MABI, among other cross-functional teams. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing the go-to-market pricing, contracting, and marketing strategies, including gaining alignment with US Market Access, cross-functional, and senior leadership, and by removing barriers to progress through effective leadership and Ways of Working. This individual will also provide positive leadership in the development and management of the therapeutic area team and influence a thriving and motivating culture and environment within the broader US Market Access organization.
Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Provide overarching leadership and direction for US Market Access launch vision, strategies, plans and resource investment for Emraclidine. Encompass a “One AbbVie” mindset and perspective in all strategies.
- Set tone and priorities for scale and scope of accountability. Influence and persuade across multiple external and internal stakeholders and partners including US Market Access cross-functional partners (Trade, Account Teams, Employer, Pop Health, Strategy), HEOR, Medical Payer Strategy, MABI, Patient Services, and Brand IBT. Infuse AbbVie Ways of Working in day-to-day leadership and management of the business.
- Develop US pricing and contracting strategy for Emraclidine’s market structure, US payer channels (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial), National Accounts, Regional Accounts, and other direct accounts such as the VA, DOD, and Kaiser, among others.
- Manage US Market Access financial planning for Plan, LBE, and LRP for Emraclidine. Ensure close collaboration/alignment with Contracting and Pricing stakeholders and effectively communicate US Market Access pricing strategy to Senior Leadership (BU President, Brand VP, and US Market Access VPs).
- Use coaching effectively and efficiently to support the performance and development of direct reports. Apply the AbbVie Talent Philosophy and Ways of Working and ensure timely, transparent feedback. Leverage leadership skills to create high-performing teams and elevate the group’s marketing skills and knowledge.
- Determine appropriate action, execution, tracking and monitoring of projects by employing scenario planning, segmentation, positioning, innovation, creative development, investment optimization as needed. Lead development of critical value propositions by encouraging the clear articulation of the business strategy and economic choices for each stakeholder and teaching the skill of translating the brand story to key Market Access stakeholders.
- Ensure a keen awareness of US Market trends, signals of change and the voice of the customer. Maintain focus on and consistently triangulate market dynamics, constituents’ needs, and business priorities to determine best, market-advantaged course of action.
- Deliver strategic impact through formulation and adjustment of business plans and actions to achieve financial (GTN) and access-specific business objectives and goals. Make and recommend appropriate strategic decisions and actions for the best interest of AbbVie and the brand at the varying life cycle stages.
- Provide US Market Access leadership, POV, and input across multiple cross-functional workstreams, including Asset Strategy, Launch Readiness, and Integrated Brand teams, among others.
Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is required
Basic:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Thorough understanding of and experience with US reimbursement and payer environment, including US payer channels: Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, other Gov’t (VA / DOD), and Institutional (i.e. Kaiser).
- Proven US Market Access Marketing experience.
- Pharmaceutical experience with cross-functional experiences including a combination of more than 1 of the following roles: US Market Access (required), field sales, finance, brand marketing, market analytics.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and drive results.
- Strong knowledge of Health Economics and Real-world Evidence.
- Customer-centric mindset.
- Strong communication skills.
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree
- Previous Psychiatry experience; on-market US Market Access Psychiatry experience a plus
- US Market Access launch and go-to-market pricing experience

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
