Role Overview

Reporting to the Vice President, Oncology, International Marketing and Commercial Operations, this role will help shape and advance AbbVie’s Oncology portfolio maximization strategy. The position will champion strategic initiatives, strengthen Oncology operations, and deliver solutions that drive excellence across the portfolio.

Strategic Focus

  • Anticipate future trends and translate them into portfolio-level opportunities and operating priorities that help advance strategic and operational excellence.
  • Propose best-fit operating models in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
  • Embed Advanced Customer Experience (ACE) and FutureFit models, capabilities, and practices across Oncology brands.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking, strong organizational capability, and disciplined execution. They can translate priorities into clear, actionable plans; interpret and analyze data to inform decisions; and identify process improvements in partnership with multiple stakeholders. Success in this role also requires exceptional communication skills, sound judgment, and a strong sense of accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Elevate and standardize ways of working across Oncology brands by implementing structured planning and processes, strengthening strategic and operational capabilities, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and drive operational excellence.
  2. Advance analytics capabilities to improve performance by strengthening Oncology data integrity and stewardship, delivering leadership reports, and establishing a unified International Oncology performance review process that includes brand and customer engagement metrics. Shift the organization from data generation to insight generation while communicating with one consistent voice.
  3. Strengthen Oncology portfolio strategy and execution aligning it to AbbVie’s vision, enhancing portfolio impact and market presence, and partnering with leadership, INBTs, Areas, and Affiliates to execute prioritized opportunities.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional partners and International Customer Excellence to strengthen capabilities, align resources and priorities, and translate Oncology and brand priorities into actionable ICEx initiatives.
  5. Lead OCM capability building and customer engagement strategies including advancing ACE and digital transformation across channels and brands across Oncology by establishing clear frameworks and priorities, integrating ACE metrics into monthly reviews, and driving a close-the-loop process that turns insights into action, anticipating opportunities for acceleration and risks.
    • Partner with INBTs, Areas and key Affiliates to embed ACE through the processes and business discussion touchpoints; review ACE Strategic insights and ACE Pulse performance metrics.
  6. Engage and partner with other TA Strategic Operations Leads for various initiatives and to build key capabilities within IMCO.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (advanced degree preferred) in business or biosciences or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years of pharmaceutical marketing, brand management, or other relevant experience (digital communication experience is a plus).
  • Area and/or Affiliate experience preferred.
  • Leadership Team roles.
  • Established scientific background and ability to read scientific data to create insights and action.
  • Strategic thinker, and ability to anticipate trends and changes in the market.
  • Analytical and organizational skills, able to define well-structured strategic plans.
  • Planning, organizing and managing multiple complex projects whilst dealing with conflicting priorities, efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong implementation skills and experience.
  • Networking and communication skills that build effective working relationships with all levels of the organization and a broad range of internal cross-functional stakeholders.
