Job Description

Purpose:

Responsible for leading the gross-to-net (GTN) Accounting team that manages reserve reconciliations of $15+ Billion across rebate liability and contra-receivable balances.  Responsible for related systems surrounding sales reporting and reserve reconciliation and analysis. Provide all internal (financial and OEC audit), external, and royalty audit assistance for quarterly/annual reviews and audits. Provide ad hoc price analysis to Sr. leadership as requested. Periodically present complex price information in a clear and concise manner to executive leadership. Responsible for GTN Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, processes, and standard operating procedures. The role is responsible for providing financial leadership to their staff members, managing the sales close process and rebate analysis and balance sheet reporting. The position works closely with Price Forecasting team and provides critical information to all levels of management. The role is expected to operate independently to accomplish the goals and responsibilities of the position, however interaction with finance leadership is critical due to the nature of the role.                                     

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a group of 8, with 3 direct reports. This position also manages complex and critical processes. This requires a high level of communication with other teams and functional groups.
  • Manage the monthly/quarterly process of reviewing sales reserve reconciliations and analysis of $15+ Billion across rebate liability and contra-receivable balances.
  • Quarterly management presentations for review with senior finance leadership.
  • Audit compliance (internal, external, financial and SOX).
  • Manage and enhance returns accounting process including returns validation system Orion.
  • Manage the monthly process of sales close and GTN reporting.
  • Monthly interaction with price forecasting, highlighting variances and proposing adjustments.
  • Annually review and document all procedures related to the group.
  • Provide integration, SOX and audit support as necessary to other Pricing GTN areas and teams.

Qualifications

  • Prefer experience in public accounting, pricing, accounting, forecasting, or FP&A
  • BA/BS in Finance or Accounting.  MBA/CPA preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive Accounting/Finance.
  • The ability to interact with and support senior level management and to partner effectively and independently in a matrix organization.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, planning and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards affecting pharmaceutical products, Financial Reporting experience preferred with a strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls and/or SOX experience.
  • Extensive interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills including a high energy level.
  • The ability to manage and coordinate multiple activities and shifting priorities under tight timeframes.
  • Experience in leading and motivating a team in a dynamic business environment preferred.
  • A highly motivated self-starter who can translate broad directions into high quality analytical output.
  • Ability to make decisions without full data set or with ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Open to new ideas, creative and utilizes value-added principles in approach.
