The Director, Culture and Communications - Medical Affairs and HEOR is responsible for leading, overseeing and guiding the development, implementation and execution of strategic Communications and Culture (C&C) programs for Medical Affairs and Health Economics Outcomes Research (MA HEOR). The primary role will be to develop and drive unique executive presentations to elevate the voice of the SVP, MA & HEOR while appropriately framing MA & HEOR business priorities with select internal and external stakeholders. This leader will also be responsible for driving communications and culture strategies to support strategic initiatives important to MA & HEOR. This individual will lead a team including a C&C Center of Excellence (CoE) and dedicated C&C partners for each MA HEOR Business Unit (BU). This role reports to the VP, Strategy and Innovation, MA & HEOR.
- Delivery of strategic C&C plan with measurable execution for MA & HEOR
- Developing executive content for SVP, MA HEOR internal and external communications
- Develop and deliver the strategic leadership vision through a sophisticated communication strategy, effectively producing touchpoints such as Town Halls, National Meetings, Award & Recognition Programs, annual senior leadership initiatives, written Communications, Intranet/Shared Sites, amongst others.
- Lead the team responsible for all MA & HEOR communications; inclusive of channel management, townhalls, leader communications, etc. Deliver capability building via the MA & HEOR C&C CoE and BU partners that elevates our service offering, ensures process efficiencies and enables seamless execution
- Represents MA & HEOR Communications and Culture and acts as lead decision maker for workstreams associated with strategic initiatives and in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders
- Responsible for coaching senior leaders in storytelling on multiple topics including strategic priorities, issues management, areas of science and innovation, transformation and change
- Interfaces and aligns with various functions, including government affairs, investor relations, legal, finance, discovery research, clinical development, regulatory affairs, medical affairs, and senior management
- Oversees management of agencies and associated program budgets that support communications programming
- Oversee delivery of Culture Initiatives ensuring MA & HEOR is a psychologically safe, inclusive, and collaborative function which is a preferred destination for talented contributors.
- Lead and execute MA HEOR efforts in achieving its Equity, Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EEDI) vision, with focus on key initiatives, an inclusive culture, and team representation and diversity.
Significant Work Activities -Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day),Keyboard use (greater or equal to 50% of the workday)
· Minimum of 15+ years of integrated communications experience required
· Previous work in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry required
· Demonstrates expertise in developing and executing insight-driven, strategic and measurable internal and external communications programs
· Proven track record of working with senior executives, demonstrates high-quality executive presence
· Ability to provide strategic counsel for a variety of communications scenarios and to a variety of internal and external stakeholders
