Job Description

Purpose

​​Drive and implement the strategy development and execution for Patient Services by partnering with BTS, APS Business Leads, Finance, and other stakeholders for a comprehensive strategy on the APS portfolio of programs and the enabling systems to support those programs​.

Responsibilities

  • Provides APS strategic and operational options for the department, including contingency planning. Oversees the collection, synthesis and communication of relevant external information that informs the APS strategy across all functions. Coordinates competitive intelligence for APS to turn data and insights into useful working knowledge for disease area experts in support of achieving strategic imperatives. 
  • Anticipates potential changes in the competitive environment and proactively develops scenarios for adjustments to strategy development. Develops and maintains business relationships across functional areas to implement frameworks that ensure expertise, capabilities, budget, and resources are available and leveraged appropriately through the portfolio. 
  • Oversee creation and communication of APS Strategic Roadmap that aligns to future vision and overall strategy of APS organization. Drive portfolio prioritization and resource planning and ensure measurable business impact on all transformational initiatives. Ensure comprehensive change impact assessments of proposed changes on stakeholders, teams, and business processes. Lead development of comprehensive change strategies and risk mitigation plans for all APS transformational initiatives. 
  • Maximize opportunities to highlight best practices and shared learnings across APS and cross functional partners to reduce duplication of efforts and engage APS employees. Oversee Executive leadership scorecards and presentations to ensure consistent updates on overall APS business. 
  • Provide Planning, Operational and Portfolio Management leadership for Portfolio Program Management. Enable Portfolio Prioritization Decisions/tradeoffs through collaboration with APS staff. Ensures all teams (Patient Services Strategy, Access & Reimbursement, Patient Engagement) and have well-integrated strategic plans in place across the organization. 
  • Manages change and transformation in APS to improve organizational effectiveness and strategic imperatives. Designs and implements key performance metrics to ensure efficient, effective, high quality, and timely APS services and deliverables. Ensure data driven decisions on resource allocation, process, and quality improvement. Hold APS and related functions accountable for achievement of key project deliverables and in compliance with corporate quality standards. 
  • Manage overall APS headcount and capital assets in collaboration with VP. Ensures processes in place to support integrated planning, operations, and process execution. Make simplicity in governance, prioritization and decision making a recognized competitive strength for APS. 
  • Identify needs and provide recommendations to APS VP in supporting the achievement of corporate goals while responding effectively to changing priorities to drive and implement enterprise planning.
  • Strategically partner with APS Finance through the various financial planning cycles and ensure governance, tracking and reporting of SG&A and Capital is effectively managed through the APS portfolio.   

Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is required


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Advance degree preferred. 
  • At least ten years industry experience in Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, or other Healthcare related field. Experience on cross-functional teams and initiatives. Certification in Project Management and/or Lean Six Sigma Experience or Knowledge preferred. 
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate others in a complex, multi-functional matrix environment 
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to effectively present ideas, document processes in both written and oral communication. 
  • History of anticipating and resolving problems while exhibiting superior judgment and a balanced, realistic understanding of issues  
  • Strong implementer with attention to detail and business acumen with accounting competence for management of multi-million-dollar budget 
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills; able to independently manage workload, set personal, team priorities, and adjust as needed 
  • Excellent relationship building skills and demonstrated diplomacy when working cross-functionally
