Data Scientist II (Biopharmaceutical R&D Data Analytics & Visualization)

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with R&D scientists to structure & answer analytical questions critical to the success of early discovery pipeline.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to frame & tackle essential analytical questions that enable scientists to make data driven decisions.
• Develop & implement innovative technology solutions through data capture, integration, visualization of large, scientific data sets.
• Lead initiatives to implement state-of-the-art tools & enable analysis of scientific data, leading insights to a remarkable impact on patients’ lives.

Education & Experience

Must have a Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, biology, bioinformatics, cheminformatics, chemistry, data science or related field & 2 years of industry work experience as a data scientist or in an informatics role.

Of the required work experience, must have 1 year:

1. applying statistical analyses, experiment design, regression & modeling to scientific data sets;
2. translating data results in a non-technical format for written & oral presentations to R & D stakeholders.
3. developing in Python;
4. extracting, transforming, & loading data & writing SQL queries, table creation, views, & reporting;
5. working in life sciences or the pharmaceutical industry; &
6. managing multiple projects effectively with timely deliverables.

Alternatively, would accept a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, biology, bioinformatics, cheminformatics, chemistry, data science or related field & 5 years of industry work experience as a data scientist or in an informatics role.

Of the required work experience, must have 5 years:

1. applying statistical analyses, experiment design, regression & modeling to scientific data sets; &
2. translating data results in a non-technical format for written & oral presentations to R & D stakeholders.

Of the required work experience, must have 3 years:

1. developing in Python;
2. extracting, transforming, & loading data & writing SQL queries, table creation, views, & reporting;
3. working in life sciences or the pharmaceutical industry; &
4. managing multiple projects effectively with timely deliverables.

Work experience may be gained concurrently. Will accept combination of education, training & work experience.

Salary Range: $119,727.74 - $138,500.00 per year.
