Our Business Technology Solutions (BTS) team shapes the digital transformation accelerating AbbVie’s mission to positively impact patients’ lives. In the role of Data Engineer – HCP Data, you will develop and hone your business-tech skills within a diverse, global organization that invests in your customized career development and creates solutions to advance the future of medicine.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Developing and maintaining scalable reusable data pipelines for both streaming and batch requirements to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity for user accesses via dashboard report, self-service data platform to structured and unstructured data.
• Data processing & QC checks across multiple layers of data warehouses, combination of multiple internal and external data sets.
• Onboarding, consolidating, cleansing, and structuring data for efficient use in reports, analytical applications, and machine learning models.
• Performing data analysis and reconciliation on datasets of varying sizes and complexities.
• Seeking ways to reduce business as usual application related costs and increase efficiencies of data operations.
• Guiding and mentoring team made up of data engineers and associate data engineers.

Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:

Required

• Bachelor's Degree and 2 years' experience or a Master's Degree.
• Solid knowledge of designing and implementing solutions in modern data warehouses (like Snowflake, Redshift or Oracle) including data modeling, schema design, and performance optimization.
• Strong proficiency in relevant languages and databases (SQL, PySpark, Python, SnowPark etc.) for data manipulation, data storage and automation tasks.
• Solid understanding of ETL/ Orchestration tools (Informatica ETL (IICS and PowerCenter), AWS Glue, etc.
• Some experience in project delivery involving business, functional and technical teams.
• Some experience in identifying strategies for risk mitigation to reduce or eliminate issues.
• Some ability to coordinate cross-functional teams towards task completion.

Beneficial

• Experience with any Business Intelligence tools like QlikView, Qlik Sense, Power BI, Tableau, etc.
• Experience in Lifesciences commercial operations domain.
• BI/DW and Analytics experience will include one or more of the following roles: Data Engineer, Data/ System Analyst, Junior Data/ Reporting Architect, etc.
