Job Description

Purpose

The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for executing activities communicated by the warehouse team leader in a timely manner while maintaining the highest levels of compliance and quality. These activities include, but are not limited to, receiving, moving, transferring, shipping, and destroying materials which include raw materials, intermediates or API (potent and non-potent). The Shipping Coordinator will also serve as the primary back up to the warehouse team leader. The Shipping Coordinator will work with the program managers, shift supervisor, process Engineers, Quality Assurance, third party manufacturers, and other Abbvie groups to accomplish all objectives and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
  • Resolve issues related to the shipment of clinical supplies, and destroying materials which may include raw materials.
  • Works with the Program Managers, Engineers to ensure raw material, intermediate, etc.
  • Manage and receive materials physically and into the inventory tracking system.
  • Pick, pack, and ship materials to warehouse; sample/Dispense Raw material
  • Create courier-shipping documents for all shipments.
  • Process material destruction requests.
  • Maintain a safe working environment in the warehouse area; complete training for controlled substance / hazardous materials handling and reporting.
  • Ensure that all warehouse inventories are accurately reflected in the inventory tracking systems by periodically performing cycle counts and physicals, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Serve as a back up to enter all applicable inventory adjustments/transactions into the system; serve as a back-up warehouse representative during all internal and external audits. Corporate Quality, Quality, FDA, DEA, EPA, OSHA and customers are typical internal and external auditors that may come into the warehouse on an annual basis.

Qualifications

 

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  •  Associates degree preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years manufacturing experience.
  • 3 to 5 years pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Understanding of the investigational material supply chain , and an appreciation of worldwide regulatory and quality requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and team competencies.
  • Basic computer skills including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP.
