The Maintenance Coordinator supports Biologics Production and Research and Development in the coordination and scheduling of maintenance activities.
The Primary Function of the Maintenance Coordinator is to schedule, plan, organize, and monitor performance of all tasks required to ensure that maintenance of equipment meets all customer and regulatory requirements. The Maintenance Coordinator coordinates the activities of technicians or mechanics in their group(s), along with other required resources and contractors, to ensure that all required scheduled and demand maintenance is performed to support the facility and customer needs. Some project assignments may be required.
The Maintenance Coordinator complies with safety requirements, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures.
Responsibilities
- Schedules resources and personnel to ensure all guidelines and policies are adhered to, and provide adequate customer service. Acts as the primary liaison between maintenance and customers.
- Receives work orders from requesting departments. Makes tactical decisions regarding response time and level of planning based on priority of requested work. Able to prioritize various jobs among different customers.
- Identifies and leads projects to improve maintenance productivity and work quality. Responsible for coordinating and monitoring maintenance program performance against metrics.
- Makes decisions about work priority levels, scheduling strategies, cost savings, safety, inventory and vendor performance (where applicable) with minimal supervision from management
- Supports other departmental (specifically including, but not limited to Research, Engineering, Validation and Quality) efforts. Specifically provides technical and Computerized Maintenance Management System expertise, including audit, customer, engineering and system support, as requested.
- Manages stock requirements to ensure adequate supplies for required maintenance and provide technical expertise for stockroom issues, as requested.
- Coordinates purchasing requirements (Purchase Order Request, Purchase Orders, and Service Entries) to support budgetary requirements, including processing, review, approval, and monitoring of purchase orders and maintenance requirements as related to maintenance services and inventory.
- Provides off-hours support during emergencies/disasters, daily operations, and projects requiring non-business hours supervision/coordination.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must meet one of the following requirements: Associates Degree with 1-5 years of relevant experience, or Technical degree with minimum 8-10 years of experience in a craft specific field such as mechanical/electromechanical/calibration/predictive maintenance
- Experience with cGMP and Good Documentation
- Database Savvy- Use of Computerized Maintenance Management System
- Technical Experience (Engineering, Maintenance, Instrumentation Service, Calibration, and Metrology, etc.) an advantage
- Ability to multitask effectively
- Familiar with P&ID drawings, loop diagrams, one line schematics, etc.
- Customer service oriented- works well with internal and external customers
