Reporting to the affiliate CFO, the Controller plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing all aspects of financial operations, including Record-to-Report (RTR), Purchase-to-Pay (PTP), Tax, Accounting, and Statutory compliance. This role requires a strong understanding of financial principles, regulatory requirements, and exceptional leadership and managerial skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Operations Management: Oversee and manage all financial operations, including RTR, PTP, Tax, Accounting, and Statutory compliance. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data and transactions in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and analysis of accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets and other financial reports. Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
3. Internal Controls and Compliance: Develop and maintain robust internal control processes to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit issues and implementing necessary corrective actions.
4. Tax Planning and Compliance: work closely with the Tax Centre of excellence (CoE) to ensure proper tax planning and compliance activities in adherence to local and international tax regulations. Work closely with tax advisors to optimize tax efficiency and minimize tax risks. Prepare and review tax returns, filings, and other required documentation.
5. Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor actual financial performance against budgeted targets, identifying and explaining variances. Provide financial insights and recommendations for improving financial performance.
8. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, and cross-functional teams, to provide financial guidance and support. Act as a strategic business partner, offering insights and recommendations to drive financial performance and achieve organizational goals.
6. Team Management: Lead a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance management. Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred.
- Proven work experience as a Financial Controller or similar role in a multinational pharmaceutical company or related industry.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements, including US GAAP and local GAAP.
- In-depth knowledge of RTR, PTP, Tax, Accounting, and Statutory compliance processes.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Proactive attitude with a strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial operations and reporting.
- Proficient in financial systems and software, such as ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
