We are strengthening our External Affairs team and are now looking for a
COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
to be responsible for our communications both internally and externally in Finland.
In this role you are responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies, culture plans and initiatives for the Finnish affiliate. This includes leadership communications, employee engagement activities, branding and reputation initiatives, and consistent measurement and improvement of communications effectiveness. You partner closely with the affiliate management team and other colleagues at all levels to plan and produce strategic messaging and campaigns, internal and external stories, and signature events such as town halls and leadership meetings. You are also responsible for cultivating a strong and positive public perception of AbbVie among key audiences and the public. In your role you report to External Affairs Director, and your role is located in Pasila, Helsinki.
Being part of our External Affairs team, your key areas of responsibility are:
- Providing active support to our brand teams by identifying opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to achieve brand objectives from a communications standpoint.
- Develop and execute affiliate and brand communication plans in collaboration with brand and management teams and support the External Affairs Director.
- Develop and manage various external communication channels, including press releases, social media, newsletters, and the company website to ensure consistent and effective messaging.
- Track the effectiveness of communication strategies using analytics and metrics and provide insights and reports for continuous improvement.
- Actively strengthen AbbVie’s public perception through strategic planning, advising management and driving corporate citizenship activities.
- Analyze the communications environment and trends, gather stakeholder insights to support affiliate objective setting.
- Empower colleagues to develop clear and impactful communications through a structured message development process and quality assurance.
- Ensure alignment of internal and external communication messages across brands and functions.
- Build relationships with key public, media, and organizational stakeholders to enhance AbbVie's message delivery.
- Enhance AbbVie's thought leadership by supporting the General Manager and the External Affairs Director in their roles as spokespersons by developing suitable content, maximizing the use of various communication channels, organizing media engagements, providing media training, and coordinating media stakeholder meetings.
- Develop and implement an internal communication strategy to foster connections at all organizational levels.
- Counsel and support affiliate management team in strategic communication.
- Anticipate and manage local issues and crisis management & business continuity procedures.
- Guide change management processes and implement internal communications during organizational changes.
In order to succeed in this role, we expect you to have:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Communications or Public Relations.
- At least 5-7 years of experience in Communications, preferably in the healthcare sector.
- Deep understanding of the Finnish healthcare environment.
- Managing programs successfully in complex internal and external environments with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong experience in management of traditional and social media platforms.
- Proven track-record of successful cross-functional team leadership.
- Experience in creating and implementing patient-centered programs.
- Strong vendor management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively with diverse audiences in both Finnish and English.
