Job Description

Clinical Specialist Manager (Field Based), Allergan Aesthetics

The Clinical Specialist Manager (CSM) works for the Allergan Medical Institute® (AMI) and will enhance organizational clinical training capabilities through management of the Clinical Specialist (CS) team in country. They will provide guidance, strategic and tactical direction to the CS team responsible for the implementation and execution of the country Clinical Facilitation Pathways aligned with strategic imperatives and AMI Curricula. The CSM will also provide regular coaching to their CS team helping to further develop their skills and knowledge in facial aesthetics, teaching, facilitating with and coaching our injector-base. The CSM will also establish and maintain strong relationships with IMCO, other Affiliate, Area and local cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with strategic plans and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management                                                                                            

  • Coaching and developing the CS team, in-field, through virtual interactions and at team and company meetings
  • Ensuring support for the right customers who meet the criteria for CS support and maximizing the impact of the CS team
  • Define and drive team KPIs to deliver on the yearly objectives, including monthly reporting to the AMI Lead
  • Foster a supportive, high-performance culture bringing the best out of each member of the team

Develop and Implement the CS Strategic and Tactical Plans                              

  • Develop the UK/I CS strategic and tactical plans aligned with brand and AMI yearly objectives in line with the international and area CS plans. This will include:
  • Working cross functionally to understand the strategic priorities of the brands, AMI and our injectors to define innovative programs to support the safe and effective use of our products aligned with these priorities
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders around the business to ensure a clear understanding of the role of the CS and how the team can best support initiatives
  • Design a training plan to ensure the CS team can deliver industry leading facilitations
  • Localize and develop new content aligned with key objectives

Supports AMI Lead in AMI Event Delivery                                                     

  • Supports with the delivery of key local AMI events as requested by the AMI Lead. Including, but not limited to, attendance at industry conferences & AMI meetings & MD Codes™ Mentee Programme, taking key learnings and communicating these to further support CS team development and effectiveness in-clinic.

Qualifications

Key Requirements

  • Prior experience managing a team, ideally a field team
  • University degree in a clinical or science-based subject
  • Experience preferably within a clinical specialist role within the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry
  • Experienced in facilitation to enable team coaching and development
  • Proven coaching and development skills
  • Proven organizational, presentation and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive and decisive mindset
  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle with a valid driver’s license
  • Experience in developing and implementing cross functional strategic plans
