Job Description

The Public Affairs and Communication Head position serves as the core member of Allergan Aesthetics China leadership team, acting as trusted strategic communications business partner to China GM, China Leadership team and key local stakeholders, while supporting APAC&MEA public affairs and communications strategies aligned with global international communications direction. This role owns all communications planning, strategic design and execution, bridging global, regional and local priorities to drive consistent messaging alignment.

40%  APAC MEA Public Affairs & Communications Lead regional communications and public affairs strategies that support business priorities, executive visibility, organizational engagement and reputation across APAC MEA.

  • Develop integrated communications plans aligned with Area business priorities and international communications direction.
  • Serve as strategic communications advisor to the Area Vice President and Area Leadership Team, shaping leadership narratives, executive messaging and employee-facing communications.
  • Lead major regional communications platforms, including area townhalls, leadership communications, employee engagement channels and organizational updates.
  • Drive communication planning and storytelling around business momentum, portfolio initiatives, launches, affiliate best practices, organizational changes and strategic priorities.
  • Partner with International Communications, affiliate communications teams and relevant regional stakeholders to ensure message alignment, communications effectiveness and best-practice sharing across markets.
  • Lead regional issues and crisis communications within the Area communications scope, including communications strategy, reactive statements, Q&A development, stakeholder messaging and escalation support for sensitive business matters.

60%  China Communications Serve as communications business partner to the China General Manager, China Leadership Team and key China stakeholders, supporting both Allergan Aesthetics China priorities and relevant AbbVie China enterprise initiatives.

  • Lead internal communications supporting China business priorities, leadership visibility, organizational alignment and employee engagement.
  • Provide strategic communications support to the China General Manager, China Leadership Team and key business functions, including leadership messaging, organizational communications and communication planning for priority initiatives.
  • Support major business milestones, launches, key events, thought leadership opportunities and corporate reputation-building activities within the communications scope.
  • Manage communications support for selected social and digital platforms within the China communications scope, including relevant company-owned channels such as WeChat/official account communications where applicable.
  • Collaborate with AbbVie China Corporate Affairs, HR and Therapeutics teams on shared enterprise initiatives, ensuring aligned messaging and effective employee engagement across programs such as China Partnering Day, Global Executive Townhall, Workplace of Possibilities (WOP) and Great Place to Work (GPTW).
  • Support HR-led culture, EVP and employee engagement initiatives through communications strategy, content development and activation support, while HR or the relevant function remains the business owner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in Communications, Public Affairs, Corporate Affairs, Business Operations, PMO or related disciplines.
  • Proven experience supporting senior executives and leadership teams in a regional or matrixed environment.
  • Strong executive communications, strategic storytelling, stakeholder management and influencing capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional and multi-market initiatives with strong execution discipline.
  • Healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical aesthetics, medical device or related industry experience preferred.
