Your role:
Oncology is a core strategic pillar for AbbVie, with a rapidly expanding and highly innovative pipeline across both hematologic malignancies and solid tumors. Our ambition is to transform the standard of care and deliver meaningful outcomes for patients living with cancer, through breakthrough science, strategic partnerships, and strong execution in local markets.
Define and lead the Hematology Business Unit strategy to drive sustainable growth, maximize portfolio value and improve patient outcomes, fully aligned with AbbVie’s global vision and local healthcare needs.
You will be responsible for:
- Lead the Oncology Business Unit with full accountability for strategy and execution, ensuring strong delivery of both short-term business results and long-term portfolio growth.
- Own the end-to-end P&L and financial management, including all planning cycles (Plan, Update, LRP, S&OP), ensuring disciplined investment decisions and sustainable profitability.
- Drive excellence in Brand Team leadership, overseeing strategy, execution, and performance of the main indication, while fostering strong cross-functional collaboration.
- Embed a patient-centric mindset by implementing and evolving the Patient Journey approach, unlocking new insights and business opportunities across the care continuum.
- Lead commercial excellence and field force effectiveness, including targeting, segmentation, resource allocation, and in-field execution to maximize impact and ROI.
- Ensure flawless execution of the franchise marketing plan, translating strategy into measurable actions that deliver sales growth, market share, and financial outcomes.
- Define and continuously evolve the future vision of the portfolio, leading lifecycle management strategies and identifying opportunities to maximize the value of existing and upcoming assets.
- Drive launch readiness and pipeline integration, ensuring alignment between global strategies and local execution to successfully bring new therapies to patients.
- Build, lead and develop a high-performing organization, coaching leaders and teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous development.
- Partner with HR to design and implement talent management strategies, ensuring strong capability building, engagement, and retention across the organization.
- Translate and adapt global brand strategies and guidelines into impactful and locally relevant execution plans.
- Anticipate market evolution by actively monitoring macroeconomic trends, competitive landscape, and healthcare system dynamics, shaping strategic decision-making.
- Lead the commercialization strategy, including negotiation and implementation of agreements, and engagement with key public and private stakeholders in partnership with Access team.
- Oversee demand and supply alignment in close collaboration with global teams, ensuring optimal product availability and inventory management in the Brazilian market.
- Strengthen AbbVie’s external positioning through active engagement with KOLs, medical societies, and key opinion leaders, including participation in major medical congresses.
- Drive a performance culture by monitoring regional KPIs, identifying gaps, and implementing targeted actions in partnership with Marketing and Sales teams.
- Lead business reviews and product cycle meetings, identifying opportunities, addressing challenges, and driving continuous improvement across the business.
- Contribute to sales force planning and capability development, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and supporting District Managers in high-impact field engagements.
- Oversee and develop Product Managers and Brand Teams, providing coaching, direction, and support to strengthen capabilities and deliver results.
- Ensure all decisions and actions are fully aligned with AbbVie’s Code of Conduct, compliance standards, and ethical principles.
Pre-requirements:
- Complete Degree in Business Administration / Marketing / Advertising and Pharmacy
- Postgraduate or MBA in Business Management
- Fluent English
- Strong expertise in marketing, sales and commercial execution within the pharmaceutical industry
- Solid financial acumen, including P&L management, forecasting, and strategic investment planning
- Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical market and healthcare ecosystem, including public and private sectors
- Knowledge of oncology market dynamics (hematology is a strong advantage), including treatment pathways and stakeholder landscape
- Experience in market access, pricing, and stakeholder engagement, including interactions with payers and government institutions
- Strong understanding of market trends, competitive intelligence, and macroeconomic drivers impacting the business
- Proven ability to leverage data and analytics to drive strategic decision-making
- Experience working in cross-functional and matrix organizations, integrating Medical, Commercial and Access perspectives
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

Where We Work
Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
